We were in Hakodate on a cruise during the first week of May. We had first toured southern Japan, thus we had missed out on the cherry blossoms. But as we worked out way north we hoped that we would be in time to see...More

We took a relaxing stroll in the park under a gloomy weather with light drizzle. Strolling under an umbrella in a wet park was not really pleasurable but with just a few folks around, the quiet, serene and picturesque park did provide a sense of...More

The history of this fort /park is provided at the top of the Goryokaku tower. We wish we had seen this in cherry blossom time, but was still a good place to walk around – not too crowded and delightful ona weekend day to see...More

Nice park with lots of greenery and beautiful scenery. Would be a great place for families with elderly and young children to run about or take a leisurely stroll. Otherwise, there isn't really much entertainment there.

The tower tour was informative with history of the battle of Hakodate and how the Goryokaku park was constructed. But a bit pricy for the entrance ticket. The audio tour to the Governor house was not worth the money.

Go for sakura bloom if you can. We just missed and can imagine how amazing it must be. Interesting history and reconstructed main building is facinating

A picture perfect location of historical significance! Definitely worth a visit, even if it’s just to stroll along its serene walkways. There is also a great dessert and cake shop right next to it.

It’s already May, but it still cherry blossoms in goryokaku park. Amazed with the beauty of cherry blossoms, but we found the public toilet it’s not clean and smelly.

What a gorgeous Park and my timing was excellent for the end of the blossom season. I didn't go up the tower but walked all around the site for several hours. Beautiful place.
