We didn’t spend much time here. After all the loveliest part is the canal area. We were too tired to enter a museum having walked the whole day.

I’m unsure why this is listed as a destination in Kurashiki. I’d say Don’t bother unless you happen to be passing by or in the mood for shopping, or eating there. Admittedly we only had a quick look.

It is near the Bikan historical area and easy to get here from there in a short walk. Having seen the photographs, I knew what to expect. However, when I was there, because it was late autumn, the ivy leaves were all gone, leaving bare...More

There are some good museums there that are worth seeing (part of the Ohara museum, Kurabo Memorial Hall) and there's some shops to potter around. There was a nice free photo exhibition in a large hall next to the hotel. Some renovation work was happening...More

Rd brick buildings were constructed as part of a mill in Ivy Square in 1889, but we did not find this so interesting as there was a hotel, restaurant and some museums which we did not enter.

Ivy Square is atractive from the outside simply because of the ivy. Inside is just a collection of touristy gift shops. You'll be pasing by anyway if you're strolling the Bizan District, but don't make a special trip.

Nothing special in here. I stayed in the hotel. Outside space is seldom used except for a ridiculously expensive beer garden event.

Near to Kurashiki bikan. Nice atmosphere. Great place to sit down and relax. There are some shops in the complex also.

Even on a sunny day the square itself was not very welcoming but the shps have an astonishing array of cotton goods. Heven on a stick if you are a fan of jeans.
