The extent of the falls is quite discernable with the low Winter flow in August which makes photographing easier, but I believe the experience of the thundering water, engulfing the falls is obviously lost at this time of the year.

It is a wonderful little park, with plenty of elephants, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, etc. and even a few rhinos. It is very close to the border between the two countries, so it can easily be visited in a day trip (or even a morning trip)...More

In July the Zambia side gives a better view than the Zimbabwe side. Our guide took us there by 9:30am and we were able to get great shots of a double rainbow over the falls. By 10:00am the rainbow was gone so get there early....More

It is a short walk from the hotel I stayed in and no you do not have to book a tour, can do the falls on your own BUT be aware it is best not to take any food with you,there are many troops of monkeys there who will... More
