We loved our day with Caseman (he is awesome--ask for him!). Arson was our driver and he is so lovely. He took us through a rather annoying immigration process (COVID's fault of course). Do NOT forget your kids' birth certificates!!! If with kids under 18 you will get hassled or turned away without them if coming from Zambia or one of the other countries close by.
Botswana in August is just OK TBH, in Chobe. Parched and arid. You won't see a ton. But what is incredible is the river scene. You might see swimming elephants, you'll see them do things they don't do in a lot of other areas, like cleaning grass before eating it, swimming, etc. Millions of hippos and Cape Buffalo, croc's. The boat tour is a must do. I'd cut the land tour a bit short. And focus on the river. We went to the glorious Masai Mara before coming to Zambia so it's not fair to compare really any safari to that heavenly place. But Botswana and that river are well worth visiting! Go between Sept and maybe May if you want the landscape at its best, nice and green. That is rainy season. Even though it is their winter, the warm rains kick in around September.
We spent the whole day with Caseman and were totally blown away by the river safari. No bugs, super peaceful, perfect weather. The lodge was nice, had lunch there. His knowledge is solid and he is a fun, warm, friendly, happy guy. Whole family loved him.
People are very nice, feels super safe, all good there. Very cool to see Namibia and Zimbabwe and Zambia and Botswana all converge in super close proximity.
We stayed at Tongabezi in Zambia, probably 45 mins away and worth the trip, easily. Do Zambezi AND Chobe is my advice.

During our recent trip to Zambia and Botswana we used Bushtracks Africa on multiple occasions. Helicopter Ride shuttle; Chobe Day Tour (Peter and Sampson were wonderful!); a walking tour of Victoria Falls; and transportation to the Elephant Cafe. They were professional and took care of all the details. During our walking tour of Victoria Falls our guide even took photos for us (thank you!) Their Covid protocols made us feel safe. I highly recommend Bushtracks Africa!!

We booked the one day Chobe Park Safari and River Cruise with this company. They were well organized and efficient. We were picked up at the hotel in Victoria Falls, Zambia on time. Our driver was pleasant and drove safely. The vehicle was comfortable and well maintained. They helped with the border immigration process. The tours were amazing. Words can not describe the experience. Pictures will do a better job. Our lunch was very good as well. Staff, including our guides, were friendly and knowledgeable. They made sure we were safe and enjoyed ourselves. We are glad we picked this tour and company.

The trip on the Chobe river is very relaxing. There is an abundance of wild life to see. Plenty of elephants on the banks and even crossing the river. At times we were concerned about the proximity to the elephants.
The game drive is sub-par. There are too many vehicles chasing around and jostling for position. The park is suffering from the severe drought at present.

Despite how few reviews there are posted here, Bushtracks is a major player in tourism in Livingstone and Victoria Falls!! They are very professional from start to finish.
We used Bushtracks for a sunset cruise on the zambezi. The one we chose was "ultimate river cruise" (see their website under Livingstone / Activities / Water activities). Overall, this trip was fantastic and Bushtracks was very professional. We had a speed boat ride through channels that the big boats couldn't get into. It was fresh and exhilirating (and we could avoid the slowness and party atmosphere on the big boats). Saw hippos, crocs, so many beautiful birds, etc. They let us get out on an island, where they set up a table with a generous plate of snacks, and free wine. More speed boating, which took us to the African Princess, where we got on and were taken to our reserved table for the beautiful sunset. Free drinks (try the sundowner...we had ours no alcohol) and peanuts. We had the same waiter on our speed boat ride, the island, and onto the African Princess. Nice fellow. This tour is more expensive than just doing the slow, big boat, but was fantastic, if you wish to spend the difference. We asked for a discount when booking, and were given a discount. Loved this sunset boat ride!!

Bushtracks handled our round trip transfers in Livingstone and Chobe National Park. We joined Bushtracks on a Victoria Falls day tour and two game drives at the Chobe National Park. We were happy with their services, the drivers and rangers were very friendly and knowledgeable.

We booked this trip before arriving in Zambia through a travel agent. We were three families travelling to Livingstone and we really wanted to see Chobe, but did not have enough time to stay over. Obviously one day in Chobe is not enough, but we were very glad to at least see this remarkable place and we plan to return for a longer stay on day. The best part of our trip was the morning boat safari. The guide, Pretty, was our best guide in Africa so far. And we have had many guides on many safaris. He was fantastic and he made our morning. We enjoyed every minute of this part of the tour and it definitely made us want to come back for more.
But there were several problems with this trip and the way it was organised by Bushtracks. Firstly, the driver to pick us up for the trip in the morning was 40 minutes late. This is completely unacceptable because we were three families with small kids waiting in the lobby from 720 AM (the scheduled pick up time) until 8 am when the van finally showed up. this loss of time was extremely problematic, since we got the border when it was much more crowded and we had to wait a long time to cross. Had the driver been there on time, this would not have happened. We would have crossed without all the crowds. As a result, we ended up losing 1.5 hours of our tour, and this was time we could have enjoyed on the river. Also, we paid a small fortune for this trip for 12 people and this late pick up was totally unacceptable.
In addition, the lunch stop we made at the Marina was simply awful. The food was just horrible, and we could barely find anything to eat. The staff was friendly there, but this did not make up for the bad food and the fact that there was just not enough of anything. FInally, the game drive at the end was a huge disappointment. We basically drove along the banks of the river, along the exact same route as the boat had gone in the morning, but this time on land. There were ten jeeps, all in a row, driving along the same route and constantly passing each other along the way. It was a huge disappointment. There was no game to be seen except for elephants and impala, which we had seen all morning from the boat. This is obviously not something any driver can predict or control. BUt - had we known that this was the plan, we would have asked to eat lunch either the CHobe Game Lodge in the midday and the continue the boat safari in the afternoon.
We would definitely NOT recommend this trip to others, unless the driver arrives on time, the lunch is not at the MArina lodge, and the afternoon is continued with the boats and NOT a game drive.

I did 2 trips with Bushtracks - my favourite was the night train trip (US$153/person for 4 hours on a train w dinner). Bushtracks runs a wide variety of trips including day trips to Botswana. They do a decent job and are one of the biggest operators out of Livingstone. Keep in mind though that a lot of tours are resold (e.g., the African QUeen night tour might be sold by Bushtracks but is not run by them).

Bushtracks provided ground transportation on multiple occasions to and from airport, to hotel. Also to view Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwe side. The service was reliable, friendly and courteous. The elephant back safari was very interesting and allowed for a great sense of appreciation for these animals. Unique encounter and not 'cheesy' like the cheetah/lion encounters.

Good morning,
Thank you for your interest in our Victoria Falls Day Trip. Bushtracks Africa have created the ultimate Day Trip into Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe from Zambia.
Begin your day in the rainforest, viewing the mighty Victoria falls as it plummets into the Batoka Gorge. Our Bushtracks guide will be there to show you the best viewing points, while teaching you how the Falls were formed and what local customs and traditions surround them. After your adventure through the unique rainforest you will then have the option to view the falls from the air in a helicopter. This is an experience not to be missed, offering one of the best views form the sky compared to anywhere on the planet. Bushtracks will then take you dine by the Zambezi river, at Zambezi House, a restaurant that brings a new age feel, blended with some old age charm. A lunch experience on the banks of the river.
Once you have finished your meal, a Bushtracks River Safari boat will be waiting for you. This cruise is unparalleled in Victoria Falls. Because of its design and jet propelled engine it can navigate in very shallow waters. You will be treated to a unique river cruise that takes you towards the Victoria Falls, aptly named ‘the smoke that thunders.’ accessing a section of the river that no other boat can access. It is a chance for you to view the ecology on the islands that make up the entrance of the falls, while viewing the spray and the rainbows that are thrown up from the falls itself.
Should you be interested in booking with us please feel free to email us at zimbabwe@bushtracksafrica. com for more information.
