Second time we have travelled to do the train ride - first time derailed, second time this time mechanical failure- very dissatisfied as was a family celebration for husbands 60th bucket list trip. Both can be just poor maintenance

The trip on the Chobe river is very relaxing. There is an abundance of wild life to see. Plenty of elephants on the banks and even crossing the river. At times we were concerned about the proximity to the elephants.
The game drive is sub-par. There are too many vehicles chasing around and jostling for position. The park is suffering from the severe drought at present.

We booked the one day Chobe Park Safari and River Cruise with this company. They were well organized and efficient. We were picked up at the hotel in Victoria Falls, Zambia on time. Our driver was pleasant and drove safely. The vehicle was comfortable and well maintained. They helped with the border immigration process. The tours were amazing. Words can not describe the experience. Pictures will do a better job. Our lunch was very good as well. Staff, including our guides, were friendly and knowledgeable. They made sure we were safe and enjoyed ourselves. We are glad we picked this tour and company.

During our recent trip to Zambia and Botswana we used Bushtracks Africa on multiple occasions. Helicopter Ride shuttle; Chobe Day Tour (Peter and Sampson were wonderful!); a walking tour of Victoria Falls; and transportation to the Elephant Cafe. They were professional and took care of all the details. During our walking tour of Victoria Falls our guide even took photos for us (thank you!) Their Covid protocols made us feel safe. I highly recommend Bushtracks Africa!!

We loved our day with Caseman (he is awesome--ask for him!). Arson was our driver and he is so lovely. He took us through a rather annoying immigration process (COVID's fault of course). Do NOT forget your kids' birth certificates!!! If with kids under 18 you will get hassled or turned away without them if coming from Zambia or one of the other countries close by.

Botswana in August is just OK TBH, in Chobe. Parched and arid. You won't see a ton. But what is incredible is the river scene. You might see swimming elephants, you'll see them do things they don't do in a lot of other areas, like cleaning grass before eating it, swimming, etc. Millions of hippos and Cape Buffalo, croc's. The boat tour is a must do. I'd cut the land tour a bit short. And focus on the river. We went to the glorious Masai Mara before coming to Zambia so it's not fair to compare really any safari to that heavenly place. But Botswana and that river are well worth visiting! Go between Sept and maybe May if you want the landscape at its best, nice and green. That is rainy season. Even though it is their winter, the warm rains kick in around September.

We spent the whole day with Caseman and were totally blown away by the river safari. No bugs, super peaceful, perfect weather. The lodge was nice, had lunch there. His knowledge is solid and he is a fun, warm, friendly, happy guy. Whole family loved him.

People are very nice, feels super safe, all good there. Very cool to see Namibia and Zimbabwe and Zambia and Botswana all converge in super close proximity.

We stayed at Tongabezi in Zambia, probably 45 mins away and worth the trip, easily. Do Zambezi AND Chobe is my advice.

Would definitely recommend Bushtracks to anyone. We did many of the trips they had on offer over 8 days from the Royal Livingstone. This included the white water rafting, 3 Victoria falls river safari’s - morning, lunch and evening. Chobe safari in Botswana. MOSI-OA-TUNYA early morning safari, Devils pool on Livingstone Island (this is a must) and some others. They were very professional, everything was perfectly organised Really impressed with the river safari’s, Livingstone island and Chobe. I would however avoid the historical tours.

This was my first safari tour and I truly felt I had the best experience ever. Gee was our guide and captain and he did an amazing job locating and describing many animals, birds, and trees. It was an all inclusive trip and was very convenient. I would recommend this tour and Gee to anyone with a day available to be chauffeured through Chobe National park by truck and boat. Buffet lunch was good. Plenty of refreshments on board the vehicle and boat. Also very affordable.

We went on two tours operated by Bushtracks during our stay in Zambia, both to different countries.

Our first tour was of the Zimbabwean side of the Victoria Falls, owing to the fact that the water level is far more impressive on this side in September compared to the Zambian side. Our passage through a dubious-looking border control was safely negotiated by our driver, which was a relief and greatly appreciated. The tour of the Zimbabwean side itself was given by Aaron, who was enthusiastic, informative and friendly, and incredibly athletic and sprightly for a 74-year old! He made it a very memorable tour.

Our second tour was to the Chobe National Park in Botswana; again, the border crossing was smooth and effortless, thanks to the efforts of Ragsdale. We were collected on the other side of the river (after taking a ferry across) by Peter and Walter, who were both very cheery and provided good insights on the game drive in Chobe National Park and the river cruise in the afternoon. The river cruise was undoubtedly the highlight of the day, with the boat being able to provide close access to buffalos, hippos, crocodiles and even a herd of elephants that swam across the river to Namibia!

Bushtracks also provided our airport transfers, with the drivers demonstrating the friendliness we had come to expect from our trip to Africa.

Staying at the Avani Victoria Falls Resort, it was an added benefit that Bushtracks had a concierge desk in the main reception. We were able to raise queries easily as a result, and they helped us change to an earlier airport transfer, as well as advising us of a change in start time to our Zimbabwe tour.

If we travelled to this beautiful part of the world again, we would definitely book tours and excursions through Bushtracks.

Bushtracks Africa handled all my tours for my stay. They also happened to be the tour operator based at the Avani Victoria Falls resort so it was very convenient to use them.
Not only were they very communicative prior to our arrival, but they were great to deal with on-site - both their representative at the resort as well as their tour guides and drivers for every activity we planned.

Some of the activities were simply booked through them, others were completely handled by their staff.

Activities/Excursions:
The Royal Livingstone Train / Dinner. (Royal Livingstone)
Livingstone Island/Devil's Pool (they drove us but Tongabezi did the guiding).
Zimbabwe Falls tour (all Bushtracks)
Zambia Falls tour (all Bushtracks).
Chobe National Park land and water (all Bushtracks).
Zambezi White Water Rafting (via SafPar).

If you plan on doing anything that crosses country borders, then get a KAZA visa. Do it online if possible. You can get it at the airport upon arrival but it may take up to 2 hours of waiting. You have to wait with EVERYONE on the plane that doesn't have one and that means up to 99% of the passengers on board.

Border crossings for the Zimbabwe and Botswana tours were handled impeccably. (I was staying in Zambia). For Botswana day trips, a driver would deliver us to the Kazungula Border and then assist us through border control where we would be met with our Botswana guide. BTW, this also involves a boat crossing and the boat is maintained by Bushtracks so you don't have to wait for any other boats ferrying other passengers.

The same system is used for tours on the Zimbabwe side (however no ferry crossing is needed here).

The Chobe day trip is excellent. We first started on a land tour where we saw a variety of animals. Then we had lunch at the Chobe Safari Lodge and it was very good. After lunch we boarded a boat and got to experience the park from the water. This brought us even close to the wild animals and was an amazing experience. Our guide pointed out not just large animals, but small ones and the amazing birds too.

For the Zimbabwe Victoria Falls tour, our guide was equally as knowledgeable about the area. There was even a long queue of people waiting to get in which we got to bypass. :-D
He then took us around the opposite way that people were moving so we avoided a lot of crowded spots.

Finally, the Zambia tour of Victoria Falls was also nice. Shorter though. But still worth exploring this side to get the whole area!

The other excursions I listed above were handed by others so I won't comment on them here. Either way, if I were to plan another trip to this area, I would let Bushtracks handle things as they are very good at what they do. I have no complaints whatsoever and only compliments!

So I booked all our activities through bushtracks Africa before coming on our honeymoon, I dealt with Shannon mallett over email bookings and she did a fantastic job, quick at replying and helped recommend trips and advice. The trips we did was devils pool, chobe day safari, livingstone express and elephant cafe. Devils pool is a must if you are going during dry season, but would of been good to have a little bit more time in the pool itself. Chobe safari was a good day out, guides were excellent, little disappointed at not seeing any of the cats but that can’t be helped, as they would be sleeping in the shade waiting till noon/darkness to hunt. Livingstone express is also a must, food is excellent and staff are all friendly and helpful. Only issue we had was with the elephant cafe, the trip is self was excellent, guides are really helpful and have great interactions with the different elephants and the food again was excellent. The only issue was we were getting picked up at 10:30am as stated on the voucher which we were there for, but we ended up waiting around for 20 minutes before leaving as they were waiting for 5 other people. Now if they are not on time then they should leave, as this impacted our time on the trip with the elephants. I think they need stricter timings and make guests understand this. Otherwise I would of rated 5 stars
