Located in the old town by the waterfront is this very busy open air market, you name it they have it, we love just pottering about enjoying the atmosphere, most things are at reasonable prices, however, we did our research, as we had plenty of time, with an idea, of what things cost and what we were prepared to paid, we totally enjoyed the haggling, remembering, they all have a pitch, as do we.

Historic location, more locals, limited ready to eat food options compared to restaurants but the food is good. There are some great restaurants near the market too. Nice ambience . Free toilets available. If you have the time, or if you're hungry, this is a great place to check out.

Great experience and way to get the real local experience, and if you want to be more than just a tourist this is a must do. The locals are awesome, but like any other place in the world be careful and negotiate prices if you must, the night market and food is an amazing experience

Not the tidiest place, but the low price and center location make up for that.
every night on my bike ride into town - a must -
Great experiences on the basket ride & lantern river rides. Excellent introduction of Vietnamese food.

We visited local street and market vendors as well as some cafe style eating places.
We had an opportunity to taste excellent local food not just in restaurants, but in markets and street food stalls too.
We heard more about the food, the ingredients and some some nice stories about the history and lifestyle of Hoi An locals.

We went to stall 52 in Central Market to have some clothes made following a recommendation from stall 39 at the night market. The service was brilliant. We went around 11am to enquire and got measured for a suit and two dresses which were ready for fitting at 11am the following day. Final adjustments were then made by 3.30pm. The women who operate the stall were great - really friendly and knowledgeable and gave good advice. The clothes we ended up with are such good quality and fit perfectly. Would definitely recommend.

For the most part the markets were good and the prices were fair for example a wind chime and chopsticks for 110k. However
I feel like I was robbed by one store in particular, I went to have a look at lanterns and was told 45k each for small ones, 75 for medium and 150 for large I told her I wanted to have a think about it and come back but felt pressured into it by the typical guilt trip , please first customer in a long time blah blah covid no money blah blah so I reluctantly got 3 and paid 115k- later on I went to the night markets across the river and was told 20k off the bat when I asked for a price- feeling sad and ripped off I went back to talk to her and try and find a solution like a refund or partial refun or even just to talk to her andask why she charged me more than double the price- yes I understand I could Have walked away but she made me feel like she would die and starve if I waited even 1o mins to have it bit of q brrhibkwhere it was like a completely different, rude and condescending woman had appeared in the few hours I was gone. Please don’t make the same mistake as me, if you are looking for lanterns go to the night market over the bridge- 20k for small, 50 for medium and 60 for large. I know it’s only a few dollars, but it’s not the point I feel like the most foolish person for giving into her sob story. The shop is next to the grocery store pretty much on the corner Tieu La and Bach Dang with lots of bags and lanterns. At the back of the hood hall is where They chop up meat is a bit on the nose but the food at the Start of the hall is good- Unsure about sanitation because I did see water being pulled out of a well that had questionable looking water in it and I also saw a Rubbish collector pull up and the bags weee dripping bin juice on whatever was drying out in the sun. He did kick it out of the way but I saw the juices Land on the food

Love this place less busy than Da Nang. Many street food but all are similar, priced ok. Some housewares and random items

Don't you just love a street market. We arrived at our Hotel, booked in and all that. Then we decided to go for a stroll. Just a few yards from our Hotel there was the market. Very colourful, very vibrant, and wonderfull smells to take in. You can look at all the stalls, my main interest is of course, the food one's. It really is a good market with lots to see and there are plenty of places to eat, if you are not fond of street food, so do not worry, just enjoy.
