My husband and I sailed from Demre to Fethiye on an Alaturka Gulet Cruise. This was a four day, three night cruise. We were picked up from our hotel in Demre and taken to the port and delivered to our boat. The trip was fabulous...More

On the front you will find a harbour where you eat and drink and enjoy the view. If you did a little deeper you will find current shops and beyond then a piece of old turkey restaurants, shops and Turkish culture.

We always visit Fethiye when we go to Calis or Oludeniz. The harbour is so lovely, and you can sit with a drink and watch the splendid views of the wooden gultets and sea beyond. The shopping is excellent with some really sophisticated shops as...More

Take a walk behind the harbour and try the fish market. You can buy fresh fish off any stall and they will prepare it for you before delivering to one of several restaurants that surround the market stalls. It was delicious and very very reasonable.

We're going to this area of Turkey from mid Sept for two weeks making our way to Kabak staying at various accommodation on the way (not booked yet) by walking, boat and bus. spending our first few days in Fethiye. 1.Is there a footpath to Olu Deniz from Fethiye. If so how long is it or how long is it to walk it? 2.I also fancy spending a few nights on a gulet. Can they be booked at the quayside whilst you're there at short notice? Can anyone share their experience of a gulet.. What direction of coast is best to go along. We're going to be heading as far as Kabak by boat, walking and bus and so wondered if anyone had taken a gulet the other way. 3. We wish to walk some parts of the Lycian way, maybe 2 days in all with an overnight stay en route. What is the most beautiful part of the walk in that area? Is there any accommodation and if so you can just turn up to without booking? Any other nuggets of info you might have of what to do where to go would be warmly received and appreciated.
