About
The settlement of Pinara was one of the principal cities of Lycia and existed as early as the 5th century BC. The site is in untouched mountain setting and offers stunning view of the Xanthos valley.

Pinara is off the beaten track of the Lycian Way but it really deserves a visit. Hundreds of rock tombs, of several forms, a majestatic landscape. Very few visitors of this perl of ancient Lycia.

It’s already been said in previous reviews but that dirt/rocky road up to the ruins is pretty rough if taking a car. Luckily, I have my Toyota 4Runner Trail Premium here in Turkey for such trips. I love ancient cities that are nestled in the...More

A good picturesque drive from the main Fethiye road, quite long but not scarily sharp or high, the last part over a very potholed unmade track. The city is in the most beautiful location, green, beautiful pines, backed by an unusual flat topped mountain Cragus?Everywhere...More

Pınara offers a lot to explore for the visitors - nature, hiking, scenic walk, rock tombs, amphitheatre and other remains of ancient buildings. The view to the rock face with the rock-cut tombs is amazing. Keep in mind to war proper shoes for the trip.
