İzmir is a nice city and a lots of ruins around but the arkeology museum is terribly poor. Don’t waste your time, its better you walk around kemeralti or visit agora is better

Not well signed at all but if you walk up from Konak pier towards the tunnel you will see the ornate building in an elevated position . There are some superb exhibits including a stunning bronze running youth and a couple of fine mosaics ....More

Closed on Mondays, from memory, but open from 10am until 5pm the rest of the week. I think!
