Coming down from the Acropolis, past the enormous Theater, you drive to the Asklepion. It is a ruin like you can find plenty in ancient Greek territory, but it is highly significant to the medical world. It's probably essential to walk the site accompanied by...More

The atmosphere here is simply amazing. You still feel the healing after 2000 years. Walk down the sacred walk and sit quietly in the healing courtyard. You will probably have the place to yourself.

Worth coming here just for the great view you get of Pergamum- but worth coming to in its own right. It’s where Galen studied and practiced. It’s the home of medicine. Why would you NOT come here.
