Best than we ever imagined. It goes way beyond only the thermal pools. I wish I would have read better recommendations about the place so I could spend some more time there and booked a guide. And go with light clothes and maybe a bathing suit!

Came from Izmir, 300km, 3h time and payed 75€. Luckily I had a fantastic driver and have to admit it was the best I had in all these years. Pamukkale cost 80tl, 100tl with the museum is even less impressive .the pictures you see with this beautyfull blue, in reality do not exist. It's a grey blue. It's not very clean and cold in this period of the year (11/2020). If you want to see, check on YouTube my video, search: wcAuP0_msag

Wading in the pools of Pamukkale was the highlight of this trip. The water is clear and warm. The crowds were very light due to covid. The ancient city ruins were also interesting, there is little shade available so bring water. The admission fee was 80 Turkish Lira which did not include the ancient pools.

I've seen the white cliffs and the hot springs many times before but what I am fascinated by is the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis. The area is so vast that it takes few hours to walk around to digest it all. They have been excevating the city for 50 years and they need several hundreds of years to unearth the majority of the area. Hierapolis is a must visit place if you're into archaelogy. Late autumn is the perfect time to visit since only few tourists around and the hot springs are not jam packed.
