Pamukkale park that I am most impressed with. The park under the white travertines on the Kaş is very beautiful in autumn. A perfect image has been formed with hundreds of ducks. We walked around him as a family. It is very perfect and impressive. Water bikes are also available. Entry here is free of charge. We only paid for the parking lot.

This was part of our organised tour of Turkey. We visited in the later afternoon and the place truly is spectacular. The views at sunset are fantastic and the place is much less crowded than during the day. We then walked the whole way down with bare feet, at sunset and we saw some spectacular views as we were walking down. Some parts are quite slippery, but worth the risk because your feet feel amazing afterwards.

How can Bones view a small park at the foot of the travertines. There's a lake with fatted geese and ducks. There's a path around the lake, benches. There is a small waterfall behind the trees. In the evening, you can sit and watch the travertine lighting. Admission is free.

The view to the valley was nice but the main part of the lime bath that is in all the nice pictures was completely dried up and closed off. There was only a small part of the lime bath that was open and there were incredible crowds. The greatest benefit was to see the ruins and the Roman amphitheatre and the amazing architecture. Entry cost 30 euros and I may think it was not worth it. Pamukkale is nothing like the beautiful pictures taken many years ago.

We drove from Antalya. 4hours journey by the cost. The journey was fantastic. Nature's beauty, olives trees around the motorway. Really worth of a day trip.
Pamukkale Natural Park is busy all year around. Natural thermal waters cascade are amazing, perfect place where u can relax.. Ruins of old Roman spa its worth to visit as well. Cafeteria its bit over priced, as a traveller you may expect that. Its worth to walked down to town for your lunch or dinner.

Along the park vendors sell various items. One vendor has a horse and camel for photos. The horse is old and in very poor health his legs are so weak that his front and back legs together to give him strength. He stands on concrete for 14hours a day with improper shoes. This poor animal should be put to pasture. Neither animal has shade. This situation made me sick and ruined my experience in Pamukkale.

Pamukkale Natural Park consists of hot springs which deposit carbonate chemicals which have formed massive travertine formations or "terraces" over which the water flows. Pamukkale means "cotton castle" in Turkish and, indeed, from a distance the formations may look like massive white castles over the town of the same name. They are quite impressive, especially up close. The park is fairly large and stretches along the hilltop above the town and includes the ruins of Hierapolis. There is a large cafeteria/gift shop area in the center. Visitors are allowed to walk, without shoes, on one small section of the travertines. Shuttle buses connect the parking lots at either end of the park with the center, cafeteria area. There is a pool that you may swim in next to the cafeteria. TIP: wear comfortable shoes; bring water; if you will walk on the travertines bring something to wipe off your feet with. Be careful--the travertine can be slippery.

The Romans built Hierapolis, about 2300 years ago, as a spa town. The ruins are impressive, especially the amphitheater, and may be visited while at the park. There are other interesting sites within 30 minutes of Pamukkale including Laodikya and the caves at Kaklik.

The area was developed in the 1960's-1980's and several hotels were built on the site. This disrupted the flow of water, reducing it significantly, and led to the total removal of the hotels. Unfortunately, the flow of water is still pretty minimal, compared to pre-1950's but the site is still very worthwhile visiting.

Then Natural Park provides great views of the cotton castle and the white calcium travertines.

While watching boating activities on the lake or feeding the local ducks, it offers a serene and picturesque area for a picnic lunch.

Surrounded by beautiful gardens, the park is also a popular location for weddings.

I am in schock! Just visited again after 20 years. What used to be an incredible, huge, wet landscape of turquoise water pools and waterfalls, better than any artificial water park, is no more! The water has dried out, leaving the dry white landscape and a small pool. The local advertisement posters still -incorrectly- use photos from those times, with people happily playing IN the water.

Yes, the ancient site of Hieropolis is impressive. The landscaping and the greenery well done. Yes, the white cliffs are impressive even dry. But 95% of the Pamukkale attraction used to be about is gone and nobody seems to notice. For natural reasons, for all I know, but gone. So sad...

Oh, back then there was entry fee at all, now the fee is around €10.50.

Turkey has lot to offer.
Do visit this World Heritage Site and come closer to nature.
Take your time to explore the place. Sunrise and Sunset both are worth watching.
