Compared to the famous Uchisar Castle, the Ortahisar Castle is really a hidden gem that is as beautiful as it's more famous cousin.

It is 3 Lira entrance, you will go through the castel, but you don't have to visit inside I liked the view more at the stop point near the entrance.

its amazing.. u have to see it to believe it.. its like out of a movie.. u can go to the top and spend an hour there just looking at the view and enjoying the moment.. loved it.. worth the visit and not very crowded...More

This is just such an exciting place and quite off the beaten track. It is just a gorgeous place and so photographic. Definitely a must see on any visit to Cappadocia. We thought that this was one of the nicest places that we had visited...More

I had heard that the castle was considered dangerous by some, but after the renovations a few years ago it has been made much safer to ascend. The climb isn't too bad, and the views at the top are stunning. Definitely recommend.

From Nevsehir minibuses runs every hour to Ortahisar. It leaves outside the Ali Bey Cami and trip takes about 30 minutes. Ortahisar is a lovely village with beautifully restored stone houses some of which has been converted into restaurants and pensions. The castle is right...More

Apart from Goreme, here people still lives. You can see every day life going slowly and miting with tourists from all over the world. I preferd to stay here in hotel Dreams Cave
