Troy did such an amazing job choosing our safari itinerary and making each stop a new adventure. We started in Sarara in Samburu, Kenya - what an incredible landscape and an incredible people. Then Ngorongoro Crater, and then Olakira in Serengeti and finally Namiri Plains. The final two camps were spectacular and the game drives became more and more impressive. All the guides were excellent. Each camp was special in its own way and Troy had really listened to what we wanted to experience, giving a perfect rhythm to the trip for me and my wife and two teenage sons. Enough luxury, enough edge, and enough information without overloading us. Could not have been better.

Having had a safari trip of our life the year before, we knew exactly what we wanted. True Africa diligently addressed our needs guiding us through the pros and cons of our camp options. Through the process we felt very good about the three-camp eight-night itinerary. A last-minute cancelled flight led to our arrival a day later. True Africa went the extra mile at short notice to move camp/safari-flight dates and preserve our itinerary. The trip was truly exceptional and exceeded our high bar. We will certainly return to TrueAfrica to put together our next safari.

Lucky to have spent 5 nights in Serian Lamai at end October. 12 year old son and myself. overnight in Kahawa House in Arusha was perfect and adjacent to airport, nice pool too. Early morning departure to Lamai airstrip. Guided by expert guide Michael. Did 1 night fly camping, well worth it for the experience, maybe do 2 next time. 2 walks which were great one by the Mara river and other on the plains, lots of flies when walking so bring repellant.
Serian are amazing, either in Kusini or Lamai, great food and authentic experience. Staff are class. Lamai being recently made permament has flushing loos, electricity and real showers all nice after long game drives. Cant recommend TrueAfrica enough, our luggage never arrived in Africa but the TrueAfrica team got it to us in less than 2 days so fair play. Went on to Zuri in Zanzibar, expensive compared to the adjacent Gold hotel but well worth it.

What can I say, other than I have just returned from the most incredible trip of my life, travelling to Tanzania & Zanzibar with my husband and our 12 year old son.
I know there is an element of luck in what you get to see when you book a safari, but I have no doubt that Natasha's expert planning played a huge part and trip ran like clockwork and was absolutely flawless in every way. From the private safari vehicle (which we weren’t expecting) to the most experienced and knowledgeable guides and to the wonderful staff that worked at the camps, there was absolutely nothing that I would have changed.
To say that we were lucky with our sightings would be an understatement. Oliver's Camp, Tarangire NP was just fabulous, and we had a wonderful guide called Grace, who quite honestly was an inspiration and a real credit to Asilia. We both had a love for leopards and if there was a leopard out there, she would spot it, 6 in total, two of which we saw on our return journey to the airstrip.
We also visited Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater NP, staying at Gibbs Farm on route to Olakira Migration Camp, Serengeti,
We were greeted by our guide Ally, who very attentively asked what we wanted to see and we yet again we revealed our favourite animals, because let’s face it you can never see too many leopards. I didn’t think for a moment to mention a river crossing because I naively thought when you came to the Serengeti to see the migration, off course you were going to see a river crossing!!! I’d already told him about my 6 separate leopard sighting, so the bar was set quite high.
I would say that within a couple of hours we found ourselves at one of the river crossings, with a very large herd of Wildebeest debating whether or not to cross. Ten to fifteen minutes later they crossed, and we had the best seats in the house and it was only when we returned to camp late afternoon that we became aware just how lucky we were to see a crossing, especially on our first game drive. We then went on to see 6/7 more crossings, 2 more leopards and more importantly from my perspective nothing was eaten by the crocodiles.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Stone Town and took a 2 hour tour, which was invaluable when you have limited time. This was arranged through our hotel, Upendo House, which was the perfect location. We then spent 4 days at Breezes Beach Club for some relaxation, but after a couple of days we were longing to be back on safari.
We honestly cannot thank the team at True Africa for putting together the most incredible safari and cannot wait to start planning a trip to see the gorillas when my son is old enough.
If you are looking to book a dream safari, look no further!

TrueAfrica organized for us the perfect Safari trip in Tanzania. Lucy was really amazing patient and kind with us. The trip was organized for a family of 6 adults ages from 60-30, So it was hard to accommodate all of our needs but Lucy did it. We had A LOT OF QUESTIONS and she answered them patiently and kindly.
We really enjoyed our camps our guides and saw a lot of amazing animals. Lucy made us feel like we are in good hands and we were. So thank you for the amazing trip

We had a wonderful family trip to masai mara all superbly planned by Troy and his team of True Africa. July 2023 was when we travelled and enjoyed a 7 day comfortable trip to the Mara. We loved our stay at the Mara Explorer. The people were lovely and sooo hospitable. The great staff and our fantastic guides. Mary, Paul, Dennis, Lawrence thank you.
Troy organised this entire trip for us and helped us through the whole of it. Thanks so much Troy
We hope to travel with you again.

We just returned from an amazing 12-day trip to Zambia, covering South Luangwa and Victoria Falls, Livingstone. This has been my second trip to Africa with TrueAfrica, and I am lucky enough to have Troy and his team organizing the same for me. It’s a pity that I didn’t know them when I made my earlier trips over the years. What sets TrueAfrica apart from the others is the personal touch they extend at every step of the planning and execution process. There is so much information that’s available now-a-days on the internet – it’s mindboggling but then that’s where a tour operator like TrueAfrica and professional like Troy help to select the right camps, the right itinerary, right amount of stay to make your experiences count and lifelong.
This was our first time to Zambia; we started planning early enough around September of 2022, and right from the beginning, Troy had been very patient explaining the diverse landscape that South Luangwa presents as compared to other parks we visited mostly in East Africa. I really loved the conversation that we had around the time of the year I should visit, his message was clear “you need to spend a few dollars more, but it has to be July-August, and not May-June” 😊. We never met, spoke over phone once when we first got connected couple of years back, rest everything over emails and messages – yet there is some sort of friendship that has developed, that’s what Troy and his crew bring to the table. Personal welcome note at the camps, interaction and staying connected forever over social media, keeping you posted and reminding of fundamentals during the trip are hallmark of good tour operators. Even the simple “meet and greet” organized at every transit point adds a lot of value and professionalism, the smiling faces with a placard having TrueAfrica logo on it gives you assurance and comfort in a foreign land. Finally, Troy – can’t thank you enough for recommending Time and Tide’s Mchenja – not that Robin’s House, Latitude 15 or Avani by any means were bad, but Mchenja is out-of-the-world, by far the best tented camp I have ever stayed in the African bush. Latitude 15 was also a lovely boutique hotel, even though our stay was overnight only. Robin’s house was very homely, and Avani more business-like but then the charm had been Victoria Falls at your doorstep, a 5-minute walk and you go in-and-out as many times you want, being an Avani guest. We had some fantastic game drives – leopard and lion sightings have been outstanding. We missed the wild dogs, but there is always a next time 😊, hopefully soon in few years’ time.
Before I wrap-up, BIG THANKS to entire crew at TrueAfrica and all other supporting partners, it is not Troy alone but the team behind him as well who made our trip so enriching and memorable. We really appreciate it – Anindya, Mukula and Abhishek.

The Best of Serengeti!
True Africa Safaris and Troy - I had the best of my Serengeti Experiences this year (2023) and many thanks to Troy for being patient with my back to back reschedules. He was patient enough to accommodate my dates and camp. All through my trip, I got timely updates, itinerary and he ensured my stay was in one of the best camps of Serengeti - Entara - Olmara in Eastern Serengeti. Welcome Card from TrueAfrica, Bush Dinner Invitation, timely texts sent to check on my arrival etc., it was picture perfect! Huge shout out to Troy for ensuring I got only the best all through my trip. Knowing that I was a big-cat lover and photographer, he insisted on Eastern Serengeti and boy! it was brimming with Cats! I could check on 6 Pride of Lions (Totalling to 70 including cubs), 13 Cheetahs, A lone caracal and few Servals besides other birds and mammals. I was lucky enough to witness a Hyena hunting a Thomson Gazelle during one of the mornings that too in rain!
Any one who is planning for a trip to Africa and for Serengeti, close your eyes and talk to Troy! He is the best and I am most certain, you will have a dream vacation!

From our first phone call, I knew Troy would make my dream trip to Uganda and Tanzania truly magical, and he did! I wanted a trip all about animals, my husband, a photographer, wanted a trip all about shooting pictures, and my three teenagers needed constant stimulation. Troy and True Africa Safari's made all that happen with off-the-beaten-path amazing accommodations, great safari drivers, and genuinely being available any time I texted to answer a question or help with a language barrier. Troy made our trip extra special with his personal welcome notes at our accommodations and surprising us by telling the properties we were celebrating my three kids graduating so that 2 of the properties actually did beautiful dinner time celebrations. This is a tour agency and owner with a truly personal touch and investment in wanting their customers to be not just happy but elated about the experience they are having. I highly recommend this company for your safari adventures, I know we will be booking with them again in the near future.
