TLDR: Bright African was outstanding in all aspects of planning and executing our safari trip.

From the start, Evania worked tirelessly to help refine our plans, which changed quite a bit as we kept adding more things we wanted to see. She even made some helpful suggestions of places we hadn't considered, such as Ndutu, which turned out to be where we had our best wildlife enocunters.

We began our trip in Rwanda where we were met by John, our driver. We kept him pretty busy, driving all over the land of a thousand hills to see gorillas and chimps, and during our gorilla trek talked to the porters to make sure we were taken care of as we were doing back-to-back treks.

Once we arrived in Tanzania we were met by our driver, Hamis, and whisked to Bright African's office where we got to meet Evania and Samil in person, discuss the trip so far and go over our schedule.

Hamis was a wealth of knowledge and possibly has the best eyes of anyone in Tanzania. When he wasn't spotting elephants far out in the distance (that looked to us to be a tree or shrub) he was stopping to point out animal tracks, dung beetles and even a black mamba. If you do choose to go with Bright African, be sure to request Hamis well in advance!

The lodging was all top notch and picnic lunches on the game drive were all hamper hot lunches vs the boxed lunches we saw most other people eating.

I realise that many Westerners might be inclined to choose a travel agent in their home country, but by going to a local expert you'll not only be putting money directly into the community but also get local expertise.

Per our travel agents recommendation we chose Bright African Safari for our 10 day trip. We had the most amazing guide who took us through several parks including Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Ndutu for the wildebeest migration. He was able to bring us close to lions, giraffes, zebras, water buffalo, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, hippos and several others. We had the pleasure of rescuing several other safari operators who got stuck in the mud!! We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend Bright African Safari’s.

We have just completed a customised 11 day safari with Bright African Safari and our group of nine, comprised two families; we couldn't have been happier.
Even 5 teenage boys were entertained and occupied, despite long hours in the car and the state of some of the roads leaving something to be desired; our teeth are still vibrating.

Our safari was a privilege from the first day to the last.
We experienced the Big Five (56 lions, 2 leopards, 4 Black Rhinos, too many Cape Buffalos and elephants to count), spectacular wildebeest and zebra migrations, elegant giraffes cuddling, playful cheetahs on the Serengeti plain and many other highlights too long to list. Each day seemed to improve upon the one before. The quantity and quality of wonderful wildlife in Tanzania is staggering. The food and accommodation exceeded our expectations and varied from lodge to lodge.

Huge call out to our two wonderful and experienced guides providing eagle-eyed observations, local knowledge, Swahali tuition, cultural lessons, expert and exciting 4x4 driving, generosity and courtesy, big smiles, gentle humour and a spotless, pre-packed Land Cruiser every morning without fail. Bravo Max & Salim! We miss you already.

Evania and her in-house team provided a wonderful tailored itinerary to suit our needs.
We couldn't recommend more highly which is why I felt compelled to share our amazing experience despite my desire to maintain a low social media profile.
There is also the reassurance of knowing that Bright African Safari are a local Tanzanian company supporting and employing locals.

Asante sana!

Just back from a fabulous two weeks in Tanzania. What an amazing experience. Bright African Safaris were terrific in helping us plan our African adventure. They were very responsive and helped us with planning our whole trip. They accommodated all of our requests, including some off the beaten track elements and ensured that our experience was fabulous. We'd particularly like to acknowledge Evania from the office who helped us with planning all of the details and our fabulous driver Hamisi who was very accommodating to our every request. His fabulous smile and insights into animals, people and culture really helped make the trip special.

Thank you so much to Evania and Bright African Safari for providing my family with an unforgettable safari experience. Our guides Salim and Max provided us with the most amazing 11 days we could have ever hoped for. They were fun and friendly, and were extremely experienced in finding all the Big 5, especially the leopard and cheetah (and the 56 lions that we saw). We always had the utmost confidence in Salim navigating the extremely tough terrain. Words cannot express our extreme gratitude towards Salim and Max, and the meticulous planning that Evania and Bright Safari provided. Please support this fantastic local Tanzanian business. Thanks again Salim and Max!!!

If you are thinking of pulling the trigger and going on safari in Tanzania, then it is a good idea. We just finished our safari with Bright and I couldn’t speak more highly of the people in this company. Several months ago, I sent inquiries to a few companies, but Salim from Bright was the quickest to respond and with great detail. Salim is very kind and provided quick answers to my questions which I appreciated. They were very flexible, allowing us to easily make modifications to our plan. They provided drivers to pick up and drop off from the airports and even provided a driver to take us to Kahn’s bbq in town. Of course we are all wary of paying ahead of receiving services, and although a credit card option was given, I elected to send cash via Wise. No issues with any of this and it all worked out without a hitch.

We went to Arusha Nat Park, Tarangire, the Serngeti, Ndutu (which I highly recommend), and Ngorogoro. We saw all of the animals that we wanted to see including a cheetah kill, a leopard in a tree, and an up-close black rhino in the ngorogoro crater.

We will definitely remember the animals which are absolutely amazing, but in addition we will remember the Tanzaian people who are easily the kindest, happiest, most welcoming people I’ve ever encountered. The best of the Tanzanian people is Hamisi, our guide. We were super lucky to have Hamisi take us to the various parks, where he would take the time to tell us about the many animals that we came across. I learned a lot from him about the animals, plants, and cultures in Tanzania. He was very patient with us, taking us to a pharmacy along the way when we needed some medicine. He is kind, funny, great to talk with, and just an all around wonderful person. His driving skills are very good and we never got stuck in the mud. He has the eyes of an eagle and can spot things that we never would have seen. I can’t recommend him enough. Asante sana Hamisi for helping me with my Swahili! Maisha marefu!

I just completed a customized 8-day safari trip, starting from Arusha. We had game drives in Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. I also had the chance to visit local villages. I saw all the Big 5 and more. All the tour guides (Banana, Hamis (Mr. Smile), Max, and Salim) were professional and knowledgeable. They all have very good eyesight, and thanks to them, I was able to see lots of animals. I was a bit worried about the lodging and food beforehand; however, both exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

This trip was excellent!
If not because of Bright African Safaris company, I wouldn’t have had such an unforgettable memory.
During game drives, the most frequent vocabulary I used was “ WHERE”
Where was the animals.
The professional tour guides always guide me to see the animals and give us a perfect spot for photo-shooting.
Without their senses and eyes, the trip could not call perfect.
The people, the arrangements in this company are thoughtful and let me would like to visit again.
I really had a good time there.
If you plan to go to east African countries, Bright African Safaris is definitely the choice you should consider!
