About
We collaborate with Maasai women to produce and market unique, handmade beaded jewelry using traditional techniques. Visit our workshop to meet the artisans who create your jewelry, then visit our gift shop for a luxury retail experience in a beautiful, one of a kind store in Tanzania. Why not book a Maasai beading class? Beginning with a tour of our workshop where many of our designs are produced, you will be inspired to create your own beautiful piece of jewelry, and memory of Tanzania, to take home with you. The 2 hour class is an immersive cultural experience, allowing you to learn the traditional beading techniques of the Maasai tribe while hearing about Maasai culture. We hope you will be inspired to share about your culture with our beaders, too!

A wonderful place to not only buy beautifully crafted jewelry and wall hangings, but a worthwhile philanthropic endeavor to keep Masai beading techniques alive and their skilled women in employment. Not only does Sidai provide employment but also a social enterprise in women’s health. The tour of the workshop was enlightening and it was highly educating to view the varying processes involved in creating items of such delicacy and detailed design. Highly recommended when in Arusha.

One of my very favourite things to do on recent trip to Arusha. I booked in with goodness to do a beading workshop which lasts for 2 hours. In this time I learnt the craft making two items - a necklace and bangle. LOVE. I also really enjoyed learning some more about Masai culture and the tranquil setting. Chai tea with delicious biscuits was served and I could have stayed longer except I had other things to do.

Very reasonably priced and there was no pressure to purchase other items but of course I did! Sidai means beautiful and that's exactly what this experience was.

This is a wonderful endeavor to promote skills for Maasai women. It's a small but lovely shop and I had a quick tour. I was able to see the women at work creating beaded jewelry. The website is well done and worth checking out if you can't get to Arusha. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are able to travel there.

We stumbled upon this amazing place while staying at the Villa Maua hotel just down the road. Sidai is a good place to purchase quality beaded jewelry and other works of art. It’s not cheap, but the items are quality made right there by women from the community. The beads are glass, not plastic. Everything is beautiful and a wonderful work of art.

My 2 daughters and I did the 2 hour beading workshop. We had a great time making bracelets and learning more about the Masai culture, while also enjoying some lovely tea and biscuits. A great way to spend some time in Arusha, highly recommend! And the shop is lovely, all the work is exquisite!

Bought some beautiful and unique jewellery here and really struggled to make choices! I love the Maasai blended style and that the jewellery is made by Maasai women. Really worth a look- next time I am going to try one of the classes!

After hearing so much about the unique jewellery a Sidai, a group of us attended a private beading workshop. We were taught how to make necklaces and bracelets by a group a talented Maasai women who took real care of us. It was wonderfully relaxing and set in a peaceful garden. After the workshop, we visited the store where we found yet more beautiful jewellery, wall hangings and other art. The story behind the project is also great, its definitely worth a visit, I know I'll be going back.

We visited this beautiful shop recently. Planned for a quick look. Ended up being in there close to an hour. So many gorgeous pieces of jewellery and art work. Friendly and helpful staff. Our beautiful beaded wall hanging wrapped carefully and now hanging in my lounge room in perfect condition. I will be shopping online for sure from now!
