An absolute MUST
Jan 2020
This was an extraordinary experience as to what the daily life of the Hlane community is about, as well as an initiation to the Swazi culture and traditions. We partook in several of the activities, which comprised grinding the maize, braiding wicker baskets, learning some Swazi words and dancing (in separate gender groups). An absolute MUST if one wants to "learn" a little bit more beyond what can be learned in books.

Fantastic surprise must visit
Feb 2020 • Couples
Recommended by many locals so after 3rd visit to Eswatini we made it and highly recommended it too! Must take hat or sun umbrella and water. Not too much walking but nice to see village and understand details. Tour guide was very well spoken and easy to understand willing to answer questions and kind.
They have a must see show 11 and 3 with plenty of seating, not a bad seat!
Singing and drums were incredible at high test quality.
Toilets available and parking is close by

Nice resume of cultural historic Swazi.

A very nice somewhat romantic cultural backsight. Especially to be made together with a short (30min.) walk from the entrance to the waterfall. But beware of crocodile.

Incredibly friendly

We loved the friendliness of the staff and how informative the tour was. Being South African we were amazed at the similarities of the cultures, especially the vibrant dancing and singing.

Culture Fun
Jul 2019 • Family
The Swazi culture village was one of the highlights of my trip to Eswatini.
Our tour guide spoke very good English which made easy to understand her. She gave us a tour of the culture village and narrated on how the Swazi people lived. The history was very interesting!! We also got to go inside the straw thatched houses. Which was really cool. For kids it may be a bit tedious but they can run around the area while the adults get the tour.
It ended with a magnificent cultural dance which was fun to watch.
I definitely recommend this visit.

True Siswati experience
Jul 2019
We visited the village as group and the experience was amazing. We got to participate in the dance and learnt so much about the Siswati culture. The tour guides are well informed and very friendly. My highlight was spending time by the waterfall, there is so much tranquility.

A must-see in the Kingdom of Eswatini
Jul 2019
The Swazi Cultural Village is a recreation of a typical family homestead from approximately the mid-19th century. I have visited on three occasions, most recently bringing a tour group of 30 people from the USA and ZAF. Each visit has been well-received.

I recommend planning your visit so that you arrive in time for the morning dance exhibition, and then take the tour of the village after the dance.

During the dance, it is nice to show your appreciation for the dancers by placing some money in the plate.

There are opportunities to buy traditional handcrafts and there is also a restaurant on site.

After your tour, you can take a hike up the mountain (or drive if you don't want to hike that far) and go and see the beautiful Mantenga falls.

The guided tour is excellent and the dances are superb. The visit is worth the trouble! To drive to this place you have to remember to take your passport because it is another country.
