It is not a Township tour! The tour was totally different then the description. We booked on tripadvisor two days before the date, when we are at the meeting point on time there was nobody. We tried to call, they said that there was a miscommunication so we make an appointment for the dat after. The tour was in de whole city, at the end of the tour we are goinig to a pour part of the city, a kind of township. But not a real township only a few pour buildings. The guide was doing his best for give the best ecperience to us.

Don't book this, because this is a scam! I was there @ the meeting point and nobody was there. They even don't know nothing @ the meeting point about this township tour. When we've called to all the numbers, there wasn't any number that we could reach. So unfortunately 😞 we haven't seen anything.

We apologize for missing your booking. We experienced a technical problem with our booking system and missed your booking reservation. Our system has been fixed and working well with tripadvisor bookings now. We feel unfortunate to have missed this opportunity to share with you the beauty of our Kingdom and would like to offer your a free tour if you are around Eswatini. For this tour you have fully been refunded and you should have received your full payment back. Kind regards Tendekayi

We had the most incredible time touring Swaziland with Bumhi Safaris! Tende and Ivana are two of the most inspiring people we have ever met. We learned so much from them and had an incredible game drive and rhino walking safari, and in addition it was such a joy to learn that a portion of the proceeds from Bumhi Safaris is contributed to Charuma Conservation Initiative, the non-profit they also manage. Tende and Ivana are doing amazing things to make a difference in conservation and community in Swaziland! We will never forget them and the amazing community of people we met at Shewula Mountain Camp, as well as the rhino walking safari they took us on! We were about 30 feet away from wild rhinos! The whole time I felt perfectly safe, but at the same time I wasn't exactly used to a 2.5 ton armour clad unicorn running at us! This was by far one of the most incredible wildlife experiences we've ever experienced and is a must do for anyone visiting Swaziland. We highly recommend Bumhi Safaris and hope we can visit Swaziland again someday soon!

After having now gone on multiple safaris I can say that Bumhi safaris was truly an unforgettable experience. Tense and Ivana are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and they truly went out of their way to make sure that our trip was as comfortable as possible. We did a 1 week safari in the Kgalagadi transfrontier Park. Tende is an excellent driver and we always felt safe in his car. We saw a wide variety of animals including the honey badger, cheetahs, giraffe and of course many lions. The Kalahari is a unique spot for safari as it is more off the beaten path as compared with more popular spots such as Kruger. Nonetheless the scenery was certainly unique and we were not disappointed with the animals we saw. Only small downside is that afternoons were very hot and we did not drive around too much in mid afternoon heat. The campsites we stayed in all had pools which was much necessary. Food was absolutely amazing. Tende and Ivana go out of their way to make excellent home style food that is fresh every day. They even somehow made fresh creme brûlée during the trip which was easily the best dessert I’ve ever had on Safari! They also provided wine/beer for the entire trip which was very welcome. Both of them have eagle eyes for spotting wildlife and we saw waaaay more animals than we would have doing a self drive. Overall Kgalgadi is definitely an area of South Africa worth visiting and I would choose nobody other than Bumhi to take you on your journey!

If you are looking for impeccably organized tailor-made holidays, then Bumhi Safaris is definitely what you need.
Ivana and Tende, a charming couple behind Bumhi Safaris organized our stay in the Cape Town region. Well ahead of our trip, they inquired about our interests and sent a lot of useful information and suggestions. Once on the spot, everything was carefully planned and perfectly organized. There was a right balance between various activities, on one hand, and free time, on the other. Ivana and Tende were just great, very professional and very friendly. We really enjoyed their company. Tende is an extremely knowledgeable guide, visits to Cape Point or the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden were a real crash course in the region's biodiversity. And he is also an excellent cook, he kept surprising us with his delicious meals.
Wholehearted recommendation for Bumhi Safaris!

We would recommend to all lovers of nature to visit Kalahari. We were reading a lot about it, and what we can find there. But only when you put your feet in the red sand, you can realize what a gem is Kalahari. The animals, the nature, Bushmen tribes.. Wow wow wow!
We went in late November when the ground was literally melting under your feet, but Bumhi team with their special treats (cold drinks, fresh fruits and snacks, etc) made us feel like we are staying in a 5 star hotel on 4 wheels.
We spent 7 days in Kalahari, changing every few days the location / camp sites. Every spot had its own beauties and benefits. We were accompanied also with the bushman named Honeyboy who was giving us so many information about the flora and fauna in Kalahari. Every night, next to the fire, he was telling us fables. At the last day of Safari, we visited his village and his family, and they showed us their crafts and arts all made by their hands with the natural materials.

Watching thirsty animals gathering around water springs and enjoying fresh water under the burning star is something that we will never forget. Also so many different kind of birds and Ivana and Tende knew all about them.
Every evening Tende prepared us delecious meals, and Ivana made a lovely romantic setup for watching the stars and moon. We never saw Southern hemisphere constellations before,so Tende taught us so much about them.
I was 7 month pregnant and I asked Ivana if she is willing to help me with some exercise and yoga. It was important for me to get stretched after all day game ride. Immediately she said yes! She was the best! Helped me a lot! Like I had a personal trainer. Every day doing yoga and watching sunset or sunrise, is something that I could only dream of.

It was a lifetime trip and we owe huge Thank you to Bumhi Safaris team.
It is not always about destination, but it's who you travel with that makes it special. In our case it was great combo!

See you soon!

My husband and I have spent the most amazing end of year holidays with the Bumhi team. Being big “cats” lovers and fans, they suggested bringing us to the Kalahari for the utterly unique red-sand open-sky experience. We’ve been dreaming of Kalahari through movies and books, so we knew instantly – we had a winner! And still, we could not have imagined what was yet to come…

The scenery, the sightings, the learnings, the beauty of silence and beauty of sounds, those of the desert and those of animals, the sunsets, the moonrises, the little details throughout the day… and the food, ah the food! Pure bliss.

We were super lucky to be accompanied by both Tende and Ivana, which gave the trip a whole another dimension. Their passion for the world, wildlife, nature, local tribes and culture, and their general joy of life was priceless.

The only downside was having to leave…

Going on safari in Africa is one of the most exciting and enjoyable adventures there is. After a good safari it’s easy to write a glowing piece about your guide and the safari you just experienced. It will be one of the most memorable endeavors most of us will experience - it’s that good. All of the guides are knowledgable and helpful when everything is going according to plan - but the measure of a guide is when things don’t go according to plan. Such was my adventure..

From the beginning of my two country, seven day safari [3 days in Hlane Royal Park, Eswatini and 3 days in Kruger National Park, South Africa] we were barely one step ahead of the border closing due to the Corona virus.

I met my guide, Tendekayi Guni of Bumhis Safari at the Namaache-Lomahasha border crossing of Mozambique and Eswatini and we headed for Hlane Park where I had accommodations for three nights. Once we arrived at the camp we went on an afternoon game drive where I finally saw my first rhinoceros in the wild. Wow! Our lodge was next to a watering hole and in the afternoon about 7-8 came to drink. Later that day Tende advised me that the border between Eswatini and South Africa was probably going to close. On his good [and prescient] advice I opted to cut our stay in Eswatini short and make the crossing. It’s a good thing we did as the border did close and I would have been stuck in Eswatini.

Tendekayi Guni booked replacement accommodations for me at Skakuza, one of the several lodges in Kruger National Park. That afternoon was my first mini-disaster. The zipper of my safari pants broke. Try as I might, I couldn’t get the recalcitrant zipper fixed. Tende took the safari pants into a tailor in a small town about 15 miles away, had the safari pants repaired and returned them to me that night. He didn’t have to do that but I was grateful for his efforts. I doubt many guides would have bothered and it was nice of him. After Skakuza we departed for my remaining 3 days at a private lodge in Kruger National Park.

My experience in Kruger were beyond what I had expected - I saw all of the Big Five, lion, elephant, leopard, rhinoceros and buffalo. Lots of ALL of them. In my previous safaris - at the Maasai Mara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti I didn’t see any rhinoceros. I must have seen over 40 rhinos in Kruger and about 10 in Hlane Royal Park, Eswatini. We even saw a rare pack of wild dogs, giraffe, Impala, hippopotamus, hyena and about every other critter in South Africa.

The highlight of my trip was a walking safari arranged by Tende. We had a White Rhinoceros come within about 30’-35’ of us. He came trotting up toward us and stopped and looked at us for awhile. He was HUGE, about as big as a big SUV and heavier. They’re considerably bigger than the Black Rhinoceros and, thankfully, not aggressive. They are magnificent.

All of this time, my guide Tende was keeping track of the border crossings and it soon became evident that I could not return to Mozambique as originally planned. On the evening of March 21st South African Airways notified me that, as of March 20th, they had discontinued ALL international flights. They were the airline I’d flown on from IAD [Washington Dulles Airport] to Johannesburg and on to Maputo, Mozambique. I was without a return flight and South African Airways made NO attempt to assist their stranded passengers nor any refunds. I booked a new, one-way flight via Etihad via Abu Dhabi on back to IAD, Washington DC.

This was where my guide went above and beyond. My guide, Tende drove me 450 kilometer from our camp in Kruger National Park to Johannesburg. That is going beyond what I would have expected and the mark of a GREAT guide who looks after his clients. If you’re planning a safari to southern Africa you can do no better than Tendekayi Guni and Bumhi Safaris. They are GREAT.
