The Church at Cana located at the traditional accepted site of The Wedding at Cana is a spot that all Pilgrim's to the Holy Land should visit. Built over the remains and ruins of an ancient church, this church highlights the location and occurrence of Jesus Christ's first miracle of changing water into wine at the Wedding Feast of Cana. As such, it ias a spot not to miss on your tour of the Holy Land.
My Wife and I have been fortunate to visit Cana last summer and on a previous trip five or six years ago. Both trips, we were very lucky to be able to renew our Marriage Vows in the Church of Cana (and receive a signed, personalized Certificate of the Renewal of Vows from the resident Nuns at the Church!
We were very glad to visit Cana and know you will be too!

The site of Jesus' first miraclem and as usual there is a huge church on the site of where it is supposed to have happened. Perhaps after being in the Holy Land for a few days and seeing so many sites like this, one needs to forget about how authentic it is and just remember what happend here - or somewhere near here - two millennia ago.

This was a stop we chose to drive by. We were on the end of our trip and had seen dozens of churches and there was not anything else to see but the church site. You can drive by and get the photo. Been there, done that, got the post card.

This city is excellent. It's the location where Jesus performed his first miracle. You have a unique opportunity to recommit yourselves as couple in the church of Cana. It's a must do.

Came here with a group of 30 fellow pilgrims, and was grateful to spend time in the place of one of my favorite parables. I found the church very attractive and not busy at all. In fact, we had Holy Mass in the late afternoon and were the only pilgrims in the church at the time - a serene experience. Afterwards, the couples among us renewed our wedding vows and received a historical-looking document attesting to it.
TIP: Contrary to the advice of others reviewing this site, I would consider it a must-see for married, biblically-inclined tourists.

As part of the tour, it's good to come and see the place. The church building is nice. Inside us pretty modern. As the guide say, a lot of people did come here to get re-married. Hence the wedding church. More interesting is to look at the versus outside the church.
Nothing to wow about.
The town itself is just another town. Pomengrate juice is fab. Do buy the cana wine here. It's reasonably priced. You can taste before u buy.

Several possibilities:
(1) If there is a priest or minister in your travel group, they or the tour guide have already programmed vows renewal at Cana.
(2) If you are travelling without a priest/minister, chance are that there will be a tour group at Cana with one and you can ask them to join in their service.
(3) If no priests/ministers are available, remember that the husband and wife can perform their own ceremony: all that's required is to exchange vows. (In the Catholic Church, the spouses are the principal celebrants in a marriage - the priest is just the official witness.
(4) Gift shops at Cana sell blank wedding/renewal of wedding certificates.

We are driving a rental car to the Franciscan Wedding Church in Kana at 8am for a wedding mass. Need suggestions or tips on where to park if you are not part of a tour group. Thank you

I am not sure. Just try to find a place. Ask some locals. I hate tht area when it comes to transportation...
We would like to renew our wedding vows at the Cana Wedding Church. According the the Franciscan Pilgrim Office, we should get our own priest to celebrate the vows before we could be scheduled. Are there priests in the wedding church that may help tourists traveling on their own and would like to renew their vows when they are in Nazareth or particularly Cana?

Cana was a small chapel where our Priest said Mass. Have your wedding vows renewed. For a small fee, I think $5 you get a beautiful frameable certificate.

Commuting between cities in Israel is hassle free. You should be able to make it if you have at least 4 hours for the 180km drive (one way). In other words, you need a whole day for the trip and the ceremony.
