went to pasar atas to buy some telekungs (prayer wear) with sulam goyang which well known in bukittinggi. was not disappointed as there are several choices. at the 2nd floor there are at least 50 shops selling these. please go around and haggle the price....More

I always like to visit the local markets to have authentic local experience. This market was crowded but fun. We bought some souvenirs and gifts (but must bargain hard) and had lunch at one of many nasi kapau stalls in the market.

It's open everyday. Wednesday and Saturday more people from village come to sell their goods. You can visit also "pasar bawah" -lower market.
