About
Visiting the Pasifika art collection is one of a time opportunity to relax in an oasis of tranquillity and to view an extraordinary collection of paintings and other artworks. It is housed in an exquisite modern Balinese building designed by Popo Danes, one of the most celebrated Balinese architect. There will be Indonesian and Balinese artworks but also numerous paintings by those bohemian artists who came from Europe and other parts of the world starting from the 1930s, succumbing to the spells of the enchanting tropical Island. Stroll in the well-manicured garden, take some selfies, taste local delicacies with a 'kopi Bali', and above all enjoy the art. For a complete Bali experience, come and visit Pasifika.

- ReginaManila, Philippines90 contributionsDelightful Art ExperienceI enjoyed my visit here because they are very organized with each section laid out in a well thought of manner. There is ambient music that suits the place and it’s so peaceful that you get to immerse yourself with the exhibit. It doesn’t show or narrate the full history of Indonesia but I like the pieces displayed. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. I recommend visiting on a weekday at noon so there is not much tourists around.Hallo Regina1214, Thank you for visiting the Museum Pasifika. The highlights of this museum are the intricate wood carvings, masks, and everyday artifacts from islands like Papua, Maluku, and Ambon. Additionally, you can enjoy a collection of colorful and unique paintings depicting the beautiful landscapes and daily life of Bali. Many of these artworks were created by foreign artists who lived on the island, offering an outsider's perspective on Balinese culture and surroundings through their vivid brushstrokes. The exhibitions are thoroughly explained in English and local languages, allowing visitors to learn about the historical backgrounds and ethnic characteristics of the islands. It provides a great opportunity to experience not only the charms of Bali but also the diverse cultural aspects of Indonesia. While in Nusa Dua , I finally had a chance to visit Museum Pasifika, which was recommended to me many times by some Friends. It was very impressive, and as an art collector myself, I was pleased to see great Indonesian masters being exhibited such as Raden Saleh , Sudjojono, Hendra, Kerton , Widayat (whom I personally knew) Kobot & of course Affandi... I have been recommending it not only to tourists but as well to Indonesian & specially to Bali residents… !

A pleasant walk around the amazing art and artefacts, viewing the history through time and across cultures of Southern Asia and South Pacific areas.
I have to mention the quality of several picture frames, with the level of details in the sculptured timbers of the frame. Clearly many months of hard labour by many anonymous artists.

This museum holds the biggest painting exhibition I’ve seen so far in Bali. 11 rooms would take you through the art of painters from different countries of the world: both Asian and European. Most of the works are dated between 1840 and 1950. The rarest find was previously unknown to me portrait of Aleksander Pushkin, by Raden Saleh - the Indonesian painter who just couldn’t had been acquainted with the renowned Russian poet of the first half of the 19th century.
I strongly suggest visiting Pasifika museum for all connoisseurs of fine art.

Second time I visited the museum which is said to be the best paintings museum in South East Asia. Eleven spacious rooms with no direct outside light to reduce reflection. Lots of paintings by Balinese, Indonesian and (many) international painters. I love especially the Dutch paintings room with works from Hofker (my favorite painter), Bonnet, Nieuwenkamp, Le Mayeur (Belgian artist) ... Bali has many art museums but none if as well layed out and maintained as the Nusa Dua Pasika museum. See their website (I am not allowed to put the URL here) for more information.

It’s a highly recommended visit especially if you are an art (nerd) enjoyer. The museum has various collections that they curate into different rooms based on painters background (a lot of nationalities) but they mainly share a common interest of painting subject which is balinese women and in general balinese culture. You can take pictures which is good if you want to look back and take inspirations out of them and also for your Instagram content.

This museum has an impressive collection of art from across Southeast Asia and the Pacific. The audio tour offered further detail about each of the artists and their relationship to the region, which I found fascinating. As a Canadian, I likely wouldn't see a collection like this at home. My visit to Museum PASIFIKA was a highlight of my time in Bali.
