Magnificent temple, must visit when in Egypt. Carved inside a mountain almost 4000 years old. You will be awestruck looking at the structures for sure.

Aby Simbel is not to be missed when visiting the splendours of Egypt. It can be accessed from Aswan by bus, boat or plane, but I would recommend taking the flight. It is more expensive, buy avoids a very long boat trip, or an early...More

We had to wake up very early, and sit on the bus for hours to reach Abu Simbel temple and then sit again for hours back to the cruise. We spent more time getting there than actually staying there. But I have no regrets, it...More

Extremely beautiful and huge monuments dedicated to Horus in Aswan. The trip was by bus accompanied by armed police. If you travel to Egypt you must visit this place, there were also explanations in words & drawings how these giant monuments were moved by Unesco...More

The size and perfection are beyond words! I cannot stress enough how completely fascinating this temple is! I would recommend the light show and a Lake Nassar cruise to view it from the water as well!

I was here 35 years ago as a backpacking university student. I brought my youngest on a trip to Egypt and couldn't fail to include Abu Simbel in the itinerary. It remains an incredible feat of architecture and engineering, both ancient and modern. The scale...More

We were already on a tour from Cairo and our luggage was sent on to our boat waiting in Aswan. But to be honest you don't need a tour guide for this. Catch a taxi from the Aswan airport and go into Abu Simbel on your own. It... More

The walk is easy. A slight rise to go over back if you walk slowly you will be fine. The entrance has no steps. There is a buggy available if it gets too much. Try and go early inthe morning because it does get hot there.
