Worth a Visit

Super staff and the History center offer different exhibitions, so if you've been before time to go again. The lectures are well attended and very entertaining at same time educational. Great asset to Avalon community.

I was at the and wanted to see what it was all about. It’s great to see old pictures beach tags and things that made Avalon today. A great place to visit a cool place to live and for sure memories that will last a life time!

A great place to visit.

Always a great place to visit to understand Avalon's history as the place to go at the New Jersey shore. Unique history museum that traces the basic history of the island. Having live here in Avalon for almost 60 years, I would recommend it as a place to visit on a non-beach day for entertainment in the rain or cloudy day.

SEE AVALON AS IT WAS

I actually saw this place several years ago. Since my family had come up here from Frankin County, Virginia around 1930 and bought a large tract of land, right around where this museum now stands, I was just curious. My grandmother's uncle bought just about evrything from the ocean to the bay from 39th to 42nd St. It was wilderness, all little dunes, and hee had a little grocery store and rented rowboats across the street on the bay. I came along in 1943. The trouble is, I recognized most of the folks in he old pictures, made me feel old. Worth a look on a rainy day. (I liked the old Avalon better than the new Avalon).

We happened to stumble across the Avalon History Center, and had a wonderful time! The curator was very friendly and added great details to our visit. We really enjoyed taking pictures in the historic lifeguard boat and learned a ton about Avalon. Highly recommend!

Though we've been to Avalon many times we just recently visited the Avalon History Center, and what a nice time we had. We enjoyed the displays, loved guessing what some of the items were and learned so many interesting things about Avalon. We highly recommend a visit to this little gem!
