This is a tubing journey of almost 1:30 hours through the rio Don Diego. Beautiful place to see monkeys, different type of birds and have fun enjoying the scenery of the jungle all the way to the ocean. Adolfo was our guide and was really kind, assisting our kids all the time and giving us all the information throughout the river. Amazing place and very well organized. I suggest you do the visit to Taironaka and start from there the tubing

Took the bus to "Don Diego" from near our resort, Ecohabs Los Naranjos, (bus: ~15 minutes, stop neat to a fruit stand, towards Palomino, $3,000 but they charged us $4,000 for being gringos I think). The tubing company is right where the bus drops you off. We got William, he was perfecto. $60,000 per person and they keep your bags for you. You can also buy a waterproof case for your phone, they'll show you where. Bring water and sunscreen. A few of us got burnt and didn't have sunscreen until we got back to our bags. Bring a few pesos for the end, there's drinks and snacks to buy. Roughly 45 minute cruise, very slow, saw a crocodile (very safe distance), lots of monkeys, beautiful birds and jumping fish at the end. Totally worth it. We bought some fruit on our way back to the bus, probably not the cheapest fruit but super amazing. Try not to fall asleep too hard on your bus ride back!

It is a great plan tubbing in this river. It has beautiful views and full of nature. A nice experience to relax and let it be. I recommend you the Beraka tour la fe de Jesus agency to make the activities, they have guides, boats and offer as well the lunch for good prices

You can hike upstream quite far, cross the river anywhere you wish as it is not deep, and hike back to the village on the other side. In the village Don Diego you can have cheap private accomodation. I stayed a few days. The village people are so nice and the children have lots of fun.

We chose tubing here above Rio Palomino as it should be better to spot fauna. We really loved it, so quiet. Clear water and beautiful nature. We spotted monkeys, caymans (forgot the Colombian name) and many birds.

We took off around 0930 and only spotted first other tubes during the boat ride back.

Worth the drive to the site, you are boarded up river to the tubbing launch. River was cool, clean and smooth.
It was high season so lots of rubbers, didn’t get too see a lot of animals... one scary one a small cayman laying sunbathing at the beach.
Two awesome things, on a clear sky you can see the Sierra Nevada - and arriving to the beautiful desolate beach.

I would recommend taking binoculars, a cooler (drinks are aloud) and some money (small makeshift store at the end)

It was a great and “rustic” tour, well worth it!

This river is incredible, with pristine water flowing smoothly to the sea through a dense jungle full of life and unbelievably beautiful giant trees, we were blessed to be able to see wild howling monkeys that greeted us with their roaring voices, little crocodiles called “babillas” stared at us from the shore as we slowly passed in front of them, birds of all kinds fluttering everywhere and to top it all over, the “Sierra Nevada” blew away the clouds to uncover her snowy peaks, that made this scenery one of the most beautiful that I have ever seen. The guide Edinson from Kashingui Agency was amazing and you can feel how much he loves his job by the way he talks and explains everything, they were very organized, kind, punctual and helpful, so we were glad to pay the fee they charged us and even a little more from appreciation.
Highly recommend!!

The ride is very adventurous and super tranquile, the view you get is beautiful, being surrounded by the jungle going in the middle of this river

This was an AMAZING value as a solo traveler. Baraka tours took me and a guide up-river (no other passengers) then we hiked about 20 minutes further to enter the river. I am a comfortable "tuber" so had not qualms getting in this rather swift river.

My guide was very adept and made sure we were in the right place at the right time. He spoke spanish only but was careful to speak simply to accommodate my basic spanish. We tubed all the way from the rainforest to the ocean! it was amazing, seeing many birds as well as howler monkeys. After spending some time on the beach the boat took us back to the original departure point.

I paid a bit extra for an amazing fresh fish lunch and while I waited for my taxi to return they set up a chair near the river where local families enjoy the day. It was lovely. I highly recommend this as a day trip and Baraka Tours was exceptional.

So fantastic. My favorite was the tubing. We saw tons of birds, howling monkeys, pretty trees. Just an amazing experience and lasted like 45-60 minutes. They brought us back in a boat. Must try this, don't miss it!
