We left for our dive at 8am and did the dives. My two friends had never dived before and Diego and a friend of his Andreas were brilliant. The fish and coral I got to see was amazing and Diego being a marine biologist his knowledge was brilliant. We finished what was an amazing dive and ended up having a few beers with Diego. Being Irish one thing lead to another and we ended up drinking mojitos with Diego and his wife till 8pm. One of my friends lost his wallet and Diego helped search with us for ages and then he got in contact with us today to tell us he had rang the marina and it was handed in. Diego is a hero and made our stay in Santa Marta. If we come back we will be heading out him again for sure. Legend Diego thanks again.

We got lucky and after reading great reviews for Quimera, were able to book with Diego the day before. Our trip today was fantastic. A must do while you are staying in Santa Marta. The trip takes you by boat from Santa Marta into the waters of Tayrona - which is a park under the water, not just the beaches. Diego was super hospitable, careful and caring. You will share his passion and excitement! The two dives were long enough to explore, and get a sense of the reef. We were taken down individually for the first dive, to allow Diego to have his full attention on you while you acclimatize and get used to the equipment. The second dive we went down as a trip. You won't regret this trip!!!

I dived about a week ago with 2 other friends. We did the 4 hours discover scuba dive with Diego. I and a friend had little to no diving experience, but we had 2 accompanying divers following the 3 of us and felt safe the entire time. They did everything scuba related for us, all we had to do was breath.

We dived near the shore, going 10 meters down. Diego speaks great English (lived in London for 2 years) and was very playful on land and under water, making the experience one to remember!

Diego provided us with an underwater camera so we could use to take pictures during our dive and uploaded our photos for us afterwards. He also showed us to the showers and shared a drink with us after the dive.

This was a great personalised experience that I will always remember when i think of my South American holiday!

We had our first dive experience with Diego and his crew. It was amazing! Diego is really cool and relaxed, he explained us the most important things so we can enjoy the dive and the sea in its whole beauty.
I had some fears but Diego convinced me in an easy way to try it out and gave me a good feeling during my time under water! Definitly make your dive experiences in Santa Marta with Quimeras!

I dived this morning with Diego and had an amazing time! The highlight of my time in Colombia :-)

I am a beginner diver with no Spanish and this was perfect - Diego knows so much about diving and the marine environment. His passion, enthusiasm and friendliness made the two dives we did amazing!

I have dived in Australia, Fiji, Bali and Greece and this was my best dive experience yet :-)

Thank you!

My partner and I are both certified divers, but beginners. We went diving with Diego this morning and had a tremendous experience. He is professional, friendly, and punctual, but what was most noteworthy was that he made a decision that was based solely on our best safety interest. It was incredibly windy today as we set off for Tyrona National Park by boat. As we rounded the point, the sea became incredibly rough, 7-9' swells with white caps. About half way to tyrona, Diego came to the two of us and said this is not safe. It was our only day to dive in Santa Marta, but he was very clear that safety was most important and this would not be safe for us, so we turned back. It may sound like I was disappointed, but quite the contrary, it made me certain I could trust Diego's judgment on a future dive. Our safety was more important than his wallet. That means everything when choosing a dive company. The good news is that Diego suggested we try a different location not in the park where the waves were calmer and the currents were fine. He was right. Best dive I've ever had. Diego showed us so many new things, from lion fish and puffer fish, to many different types of hard and soft corral. He didn't just dive with us, he taught us things as we went, which is another important factor to me in choosing a dive company. One of the most important things we learned is that you don't have to be IN tyrona to have a great dive. After all, the sea life does not know there is a national park boundary! All in all, I highly recommend Diego. He is trustworthy and that has A LOT of value when choosing a dive company. All around great guy and great dive company.

It was my first time diving and Deigo made it a very enjoyable and relaxing. He is funny and is very passionate about diving and marine ecology. We started in Santa Martha's international marina. Boarded a boat for a half hour ride to Tairona National Park where we did two dives. The marine life was spectacular. We saw all kinds of fishes big and small. I will defintely be back to dive with Quimiera and Deigo.

It was incredible to go diving with Diego. He is so passionate about his work and marine life and his positive energy made our day. We started off the day at the marina and had an nice boat ride over to our dive spot. Diego gave the newbies a quick and funny run through. Then the first dive was great, the visibility was awesome and we saw lots of nice fish. Afterwards we had a nice snack and a second dive in another great location. The hot showers and beers afterwards at the end of the day was such a great way to end the day. I would highly recommend diving with this company as it is more than just about scuba diving. You'll learn about the wildlife you see :) thanks for the great day!!

My boyfriend and I went diving with Diego earlier in the month and had such a fabulous time. Quimera Divers is a very unique company in the sense that Diego only takes one couple/group of friends out at a time. You will not be on the trip with anyone that you do not know. It was a relaxing and intimate dive trip. With that said, I would recommend booking your dive trip a few months in advance to guarantee a trip the day of your choice.

Bonus Features: Diego speaks perfect English, he has a brand new boat, he is a marine biologist and is very passionate about scuba diving/marine life.
