Fantastic way to get a round the city. Buy a card and preload it. If you go san Javier stop and go to the cable car you can do the full loop at no extra charge . Great view for the 25 minutes

Paisas are very proud of their metro system and this tran via is part of it. The city of Medellin has done a great job at promoting a culture of respect for the system and between the users, which easily shows. It is probably one of the safest, cleanest and easiest to use system I have seen around the world. The tranvia takes you up to the metro cable through a different route and it gives you an opportunity to see a different side of the city. Keep an eye on your belonging like you would enywhere else and have fun discovering Medallo.

You can board the tram to access 2 additional Metrocable lines. The farthest cable line is no additional charge, but the one half way up forces you to leave the ‘paid zone’ & you have to pay again the continue on the cable car line & then again to take the tram back to San Antonio station. Price is only $2,550 COP. - about 78 cents US...well worth it.

I admire the progressive minds of this city. Wish we had more mayors and governments like the ones in Medellin. Great transportation method, also spotless.

Medellin knows how to do public mass transportation. From the Metro, busses, cable cars and the newest mode the Transvia, Medellin’s system is the envy of the world. It is incredibly clean, cheap, efficient and safe. It is a great way to tour the many facets of this wonderful city.

Medellin probably has the best transportation system I’ve ever seen. All the buses, metro, tranvía and cable cars get easily get you wherever you need to go. Highly recommend trying all of them.

Medellin has such a great transportation system for such a big, complicated and congested city. Riding a taxi could be your nightmare in traffic congestions.
Contrary to that, with metro, trams and Metrocable cable cars you can get almost anywhere fast, safe, cheap and with AC.

It's a really good service for all the people that lives uphill near the "ayacucho" road. It's clean and right in schedule. As a tourist, I recommend to use it to get to know that uphill part of the city and to go to eat at "mercado del tranvía" near the "Buenos Aires" station. It can get very crowd at peak times.
