We used this as the entrance to the walled city. From here you can start to explore. Very nice clock tower with an open space in front and a park across the road.

Character filled old town. Partly cobbled, colourful, great atmosphere, plenty to see here and you can enjoy more than a day wandering the gorgeous streets.

Good place to visit, but inside the walls! Outside is really poor, with lots of homeless people asking for everything to you (money, food, water, etc) and it is really dirty. Actually the main problem in Cartagena is that everywhere you go, you see lots...More

Really enjoyed the Christmas lights and the energy around this entrance to the "Walled City of Cartagena"

The tower is more historically significant than architecturally. Pretty plain tower but it does look great lit up at night. Square has plenty of the usual street vendors. Some seating and shade would make it more enjoyable

Looks great especially at night. Very busy and pretty lit up. You can't miss it when walking around the old town.

This is a unique building and the gateway to the old town. Very atmospheric and evocative. Great building and buzzy at night. Lovely to look around day or night.

Beautiful and charming entrance to the historic old city of Cartagena. Prepare to be offered everything from “faux-lex” watches to drugs, and keep an eye on your handbag.

no entrance fee. it's more a landmark than an attraction. it's a way to get into the old part if town. vendors inside if you want some souvenirs.

Probably. There are many tours available. One needs to ask. We organized ourselves by purchasing bus tickets to Santa Marta and doing the airbnb.
