I had a fantastic time. The vendors and their wares, the sites the sounds. I was in Cartagena during the month of December and it is tradition for the city government to hire local dancers to publicly dance in the square. At night during the...More

Most cities have a central plaza or two. This one was just lovely. Shaded benches surrounded by historical buildings. The benches were occupied by workers and older people but still had plenty of places to sit. A city asset for sure.

The park is nice but also full of vendors. This is the main square of cartagena center where is also the cathedral and the inquisition palace.

Love park and connections with the local people in how they relax and enjoy their community. Interact with the people and learn a little history at the same time.

Nice statue of Simon Bolivar who liberated Columbia as well as other countries from the Spanish Empire.. Great shade trees, lots of locals, quiet surroundings but many many pigeons. Again, many street vendors trying to sell you their wares.

This was a real treat to stumble upon, especially in the heat. A great park with benches, lots of shady trees and cool place to cool down.
