Took the metro to the square because my guide said it was a good place to go. Got to the square and nothing was going on. There is a lot of shopping and dinning opportunities in the area but nothing else at 8pm.
Just another big square in China, example of Chinese monumentalism. Most disgusting was to observe the discrimination of some Tibetan visitors, who unlike all other visitors had to show their IDs and get their luggage checked.

Great central city view you can easily take in on your way to dinner. Fountains, lights, views of the Science and technology Museum as well as the Chengdu Museum. Close to the subway, mall and lots of food options
