Maybe I went to a different Dapeng Peninsula. I stayed around Nan'Ao, went to the tip (Xichong Beach) and over to the "fortress"... I didn't see anything starkly different from the rest of the city except that far fewer people live there. There are still...More

A peninsula on the eastern edge of Shenzhen, Dapeng is an area that's rapidly changing. Come to the somewhat secluded beaches and mountain hiking trails before it's all commercialized with wall-to-wall ocean resorts. A quiet place now, with fantastic seafood. A gem on China's coast.
