I went on a morning half day tour which I paid $18/pax. On our way the tour guide told us a lot about it's personal story and very little about the village itself. Then again once in the village he told us about his story...More
It was part of our excursion for our homestay at Kampong Kleang. The boat trip takes you through the houses built on stilts, canals and mangeove forests. A quite unique experience that exposes you to the hardship of the folks here, but nothing special
This is a review for Hello Bird Tours to Kompong Phluk although I’m sure many of the other half day tours here work the same way.
We were told to be ready for pick up for 1:30pm (bearing in mind the tour was advertised for...More
On our last day in Siem Reap we decided to take this tour as our very friendly tuk tuk driver suggested as an option for more temples. As you arrive a man dressed with some sort of government or tourist guide attire loudly asks for...More
I have visited many floating villages but Kampong Phluk is somewhat very different from the rest. Instead of floating on the water the whole village is literally built on stilts up to 20 feet above water. During the wet season the water from the Mekong...More

I'm still divided in how I feel about this tour today. We took the half day tour from our hotel in siem reap to the floating village on a tuk tuk. The drive there was an event in itself on the main road, then along...More

It cost $30 USD including the mangrove / forest boat ride. It takes about and hour to get there from town by Tuk tuk. It's definitely not worth it, I would highly recommend against it. Just a scam to get money from tourists. It was pretty disappointing and quite sad to see how the villages live in poverty, riding through the village almost felt like they put on show.
