Second time in Chobe National Park with Moabi and it was just as wonderful as the first time! We saw four of the big five, many birds and antelopes. Overall a very enjoyable day with one of the best guide we have ever had.

I was doing a Chobe Day trip with Steenbok safaris and moabi was our guide. He was well mannered and punctual to pick us at the Zimbabwe-Botswana border at 0800 hours. We had a boat cruise in the chobe river and I saw hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and lots of birds. In the game drive he showed us elephants, lions and wild dogs. I loved the way he was patient in answering our questions and his very knowledgeable. must admit he is the best guide I have travelled with so far

I was camping with my girlfriend and did the 3 night safari in Chobe. Our guide was Moabi and i must say he was really professional. The food was amazing and we enjoyed the safari experience.

I booked almost five months ahead of time and Moabi did not show up. Ruined entire day and the only reason I got a hotel in ZImbabwe was to go on the safari with Moabi to Chobe National Park in Botswana. We even reconfirmed in March and he promised us we did not need a voucher and that he would meet us in the lobby that morning.

We did the 2 night camping safari in Chobe. The boat trip and the truck safaris were excellent. Our guide Mawambo, was very experienced and knowledgeable.
Camping in the Bush was exciting and Timothy the cook, catered very well.
Mawambo went to great lengths to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible. We saw and learned a great deal over the 3 days.

If you want to do an African safari properly with a guy who knows exactly what he is doing, then this is the one to do. We could not have asked for a better experience of Chobe national park and river. Moabi and TT were great, as was Obi from Big Sam Hubber who provided the most wonderful boat trip amongst the wildlife in the river.
This is the real deal, and as other reviewers have commented the "other" operators all stop to ask Moabi for clues, he goes to extraordinary lengths to preserve tracks so the "commercial" tour providers can find the beautiful African animals.

It is difficult to express with words how wonderful this experience was. Our tour guides were exceptionally good. The impressive thing about the captain of the boat is that he spotted all the birds immediately and knew all the names and information about them.

The tour guide in the jeep managed to follow some lion footprints and we saw a lioness eating a buffalo!!! Indeed the other tour operators were following our jeep! Further to seeing crocodiles and hippos in the water, we also saw jiraffes, elephants, baboons and many, many different birds. This tour was a unique experience. The price is very reasonable and the guides are exquisite!!!

Tourists should be warned this safari guy is unreliable. We booked Moabi 6 months in advance and was a firm reservation in writing. We spent time, effort and money to get to Kasane. We waited 15 minutes before the departure time at our lodge but he failed to arrive with no communication. Staff at the lodge were really helpful to try to save our day for this tour so repeatedly tried phoning him but he did not answer his office phone, mobile phone or reply to voice messages or email.
We have now been waiting 3 hours and consider he is not coming and ruined our day tour in Kasane.
We pass this information onto others to avoid Steenbok Safaris due to his unreliability. Please see my other reviews to assure you I am fair in both positive and negative reviews and an experienced traveller.

During our 6 days at Kasane we had 6 game drives with Moabi both morning and late afternoon and 3 afternoon boat cruises that he organised for us. Words cannot adequately describe how magic those 6 days were. We saw lions on 5 of those drives (including metres from the road guarding a zebra kill), giraffes, zebra, huge herds of buffalo and antelope, mongoose, baboons, hippos, crocodiles, vultures, jackals, prolific bird life and then there were the elephants! I had never seen so many elephants - 35 in a breeding herd on one particular day.
Moabi has incredible eyes and saw flashes in the bushes and tracks in the sand that led us on the most amazing adventures. He was as motivated as we were to see as much as we could!! In the process he was patient and easy-going, answering a million questions from our family with 3 curious children aged 6, 9 and 11. His expert knowledge made a huge impact on us, our children are still reciting things he told them! And always with a lot of detail and a good sense of humour. He obviously loves what he does and we think he has the best job in the world!
We prebooked our activities from Australia by email and Steenbok's replies were always prompt and informative. While we were in Kasane all our activities were on time and Moabi was also happy to be flexible when we wanted to switch activities around. He was a fantastic host, providing hot drinks and snacks mid-morning.
We would highly recommend Moabi to anyone wanting an expert game drive experience in the beautiful Chobe National Park.

Moabi is an excellent guide. My trip included two nights camping in Chobe, game drives, and a boat safari. The trip was a great value. I rated it very good instead of excellent, only because of a logistical hang up that delayed the our first game drive.
