Visited here during our stay in Botswana. Member of staff who showed us around was really nice and very knowledgeable. Showed us around the breeding pens and crocs at various stages. The outside areas have some huge crocodiles in! Very interesting and worth a visit!

Entry charge to "Chobe Crocodile Farm" was 100 Pulas and a employee guided me inside the farm that had many dogs which included a Dachshund and a Mastiff.
The employee took me to a large hallway having Circular fish tank wells that contained crocodiles. . Was introduced to Ms Pedzani, the caretaker and employee of this crocodile farm. She explained me the different crocodiles in different waterless tanks. One tank had only baby crocodiles which were 4 years old." Moremi" who is supposed to be over 100 years old is the prized breeding crocodile of this farm. The next crocodile of importance " Mr Big Boy" is the second oldest crocodile on the farm at supposedly 90 years of age. She feeds each large crocodile about 15 chickens once in three months. This particular hall exhibit of the crocodiles was used for student and tourist tours and hence illustrations on the walls explaining the life facts of the crocodile. I was next taken to the outdoors breeding pond enclosures which had numerous crocodiles including females guarding their eggs buried in sand. The females guarding the eggs are very protective and aggressive and one female close to the fence almost charged at me when I went too close. Ms Pedzani told me to keep my distance from the female crocodile as they can also leap a few feet and grab their prey as seen in wildlife documentaries which in this present situation could be my limb. She showed me the two different enclosures in which " Mr Big Boy" and " Moremi" were kept and finally while departing met the owner, a white Botswanan citizen Ms Sue.Slogrove who explained me her farm and the crocodile industry in Africa which is big commercial business. Her prized and most famous crocodile on her farm was " Nelson" who lived over 100 years of age expiring in 2004 and was also pictured on the stamp of Botswana.

The guide is excellent. Lots to see. Cuddle a crocodile! Gardens are also beautiful. Easy to access next to Kubu Lodge between Kasane and Kazangula.

An excellent outing and educational experience rolled into one. We learnt loads about crocodiles and had fun in the process. We could even feel their teeth & skin and hold young specimen. Highly recommended.

Sue, the owner has so much knowledge re crocodiles we had never heard of. These kind of initiatives are really effected by the covid restriction and are suffering to keep on going the good work. We could even hold young crocodiles (1 year old) carefully (watch their teeth!!!! When could you ever hold a croc in your hands???? Amazing story about their sensitivity for movements: they know who/how many are coming out of the car; who is the weakest, who pregnant, how many steps etc. Don't miss this experience!
