This is an incredible walk full of steep climbs, great views and historical and spiritual significance. For many this can be a spiritual place with the 14 stations of the cross. There are curanderos doing spiritual and medicinal work at a major viewpoint - about...More

Titicaca lake lying at 3812 m the climb from the central square of Copacabana is less than 200 m. I see different altitudes for Cerro Calvario, centered around 4007 m. I climbed it and came back in an hour as I had to hurry to...More

Must see in Copacabana! It takes you around 20-30 minutes from the main street but it‘s worth it. You get a view over whole Copacabana City and the beautiful Lake Tititaca!

A nice little hike from the beach at Copa, ‘Cerro Calvario’ is worth the trek for sunset or anytime. Beautiful panoramas, a short (40 min.) burn from the centre, and fresh air. Don’t mind the countless dogs (friendly), tossed dirty diapers & other trash -...More

I climbed up the rock face from the entrance off Jauregui. It is a really steep climb and was basically rock climbing at different points. I recommend ascending this way and then heading down the main stairway off the other side. The more sensible approach...More

The hike up was tough given the altitude and the steepness of the climb, but we were rewarded with a bird's eye view over Copacabana, the sea and the surrounding islands. You can spot Isla Del Sol as well. Come early before sunset to get...More

The views are wonderful. They make the little hike worthwhile. They blank out the filth, rubbish, and graffiti that litters the trail and any viewpoint. We made this hike on a beautiful morning in about 35 minutes from the entrance gate at the bottom. It...More

We walked up from town - a difficult steep walk (at altitude) but with it for the views at the top. Lots of sacred points along the way. Top is interesting with monuments but also covered with lots of rubbish. Good views of the sunset...More

I wandered up here thinking i had made a mistake as rubbish and graffiti lined the path and religious crosses on the way up. You have to try and ignore it as the views from the top especiallyially around sunset are well worth it watching...More

For most tourists, Cerro Calvario is the place to be to watch the sunset in Copacabana. They aren't wrong, although I prefer the view from Horca del Inca. If you're in Copacabana for more than one night, I woud definitely recommend going to both places....More
