We took a taxi up and cable car down, the queues for the cable car on the way up can be quite long. The views are beautiful and it’s also worth going up inside Cristo for keyhole views of the city!

This monument on the top of the hill is a nice place to visit in Cochabamba. You have a nice view of the valley and of the city. Be careful to take the stares alone, better going with a guide.

You can get up with the cable car or by cab for a very low charge. Take a relax on the cafeteria close to the monument and enjoy the view over the city, taking a coca tee or excellent fruit juices.

inevitably, perhaps, this statue faces the better part of cocha, with its back towards various poor barrios. it IS taller than the one in rio, and sits on a live volcano, adding an intriguing existential element to the experience. bring a sketchbook, not a smartphone.

Let's be honest, it is difficult to criticise a very large statue of Christ. But this is not Rio. And we have to ask ourselves what was the municipal authority doing, in a place where many people are very poor, and many others earn less...More
