Small recreated village that represents rural Nebraska in early 1900's. Free of charge. Can spend an hour or so here. Has such great potential, but funds and volunteers are lacking. Should be taken over by the town or other organization to help with the up-keep. Had great time discussing the village and the Nebraska life with volunteers raising a new Barn exhibit. Great place to stretch your legs before a long Eastward trip on the Sandhills Journey Scenic Byway.…

This is a very real view of the old western towns. Original antiques and restored buildings brought in from the surrounding homesteaders that have donated these buildings from their properties. All the furnishings are real antiques collected from donations of original settlers families and area finds. There is no charge,but you may donate to help with upkeep. They have re-enactments of gunfights or shooting demos with real period guns and some toys that the kids can have fun with . Old carriages and wagons , a church, jail saloon school, post office and brothel. On special occasions such as the solstices and heritage days , special events are presented such as knife making black smithing, cooking and other fun things. an old fashioned candy shop; fully stocked. and saloon with drinks are served for purchase during these events. quilting demos with old treddal sewing machines. Think they posted on wrong page.. we are open from daylight til dark and have no fees. We are run on donations and volunteers... we have 33,000 hours of clean-up and repair since 2009... please come and see us!
