At the recommendation of our motel desk clerk, we visited this FREE museum! I have never before seen a local museum that was more fascinating. One can easily tell that knowledgeable people created the displays and even the things I might otherwise overlook were so impressive.

This is a free museum that tells the history of the Sandhills of Nebraska. It has lots of different displays to inform you of the area.

Very nice exhibits. Included prehistory, but from the historical period on, each exhibit focused on one former resident. For instance the one on religion was a about a certain priest, and most of the items in the exhibit were from him.

This museum is attractive and information. Start the tour with a movie about the sandhills. Then walk through the museum to see the history of the area and the town of Alliance.
