It’s well worth taking a boat trip from St Wolfgang. We went on two ships, which were both well-appointed, with a little bar on board. The views were delightful, and the service regular enough to make planning a day quite flexible.

Fabulous way to see the lake and for just under €8 you can get from St Gilgen to St Wolfgang. Large comfortable boat with seating inside and out and a small bar serving hot drinks, beer etc etc. Love the sailing and some amazing views...More

A smaller lake in the lake chain near Salzburg Wolfgangsee is a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains, with clear water and a picturesque town on its bank. It was part of our lake tour day trip from Salzburg.

There’s a stretch between Furburg and Ried-Hallstein (nr Wolfgang) where cycling is only possible by heading up a 200mtr hill - very steeply. We opted for the ferry which happily takes bikes and had a rest while the boat took the strain! Great regular services...More
