Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

As a couple of thirty somethings on our honeymoon we found ourselves heading off to Sega Republic in the Dubai Mall (Well, my wife would have liked to have continued viewing the 12 000 shops or how ever many they were but I dragged her in)!

We both really enjoyed the two rides we took. We went on the Jungle simulator ride and this was a real laugh. Better than I thought it would have been. We also went on the Sonic Spinner roller coaster and this was brilliant. I love my roller coasters and usually don't bother with those that don't throw me upside down but we gave it a go. Well worth the ride.

Spend a while in here to ease the shopping marathon!

This is not a big amusement park, it is located inside the Dubai Mall and you don't have to pay to go inside the park. You will pay the rides that you use.
It has a few rides and it is guaranteed to make you spend a few good and fun hours.

I took my 2 kids to Sega in the Dubai Mall. One was 1.3 meters tall while the other was 1 meter tall. You will be surprised by the various rides in Sega even though it is indoors. This includes a rollercoaster which was good. The only thing you should be careful of is that Sega is not ideal for kids under 1.1 meters as they will not be able to go on many rides and end up getting bored.

This is our 3rd time to Sega Republic and this time we were very disappointed with the experience.

One member of the staff on a ride was constantly harassing my 16 year daughter asking for her phone number, this was very unprofessional and embarrassing.

We did complain and they did promise that a full investigation would be carried out, however still awaiting for them to contact us. We paid 650 AED for the tickets and it took me to really kick a fuss to get 350 AED back which i think was unacceptable. Half of the rides were out of action and the best ones could not be used on the day pass.

This was the worst Theme Park Experience I have ever had in my whole life.
I went with my Family 7 and 6 Year Old, bought 2 power passes for around $100 each and then discovered that this rip off place is offer a package online for almost $40 for the same and no one told me, also the $100 was not enough I discovered that there are some rides not included in the price and the credit for Arcade is not enough and needs to be recharged every 2 minutes. I ended up spending $400 for 2 hours of lousy old games, dusty park, and awful TERRIBLE staff and service. The F&B Kiosks look and smell disgusting and serve disgusting "food" items. The Staff were busy eating, giggling, flirting with each other, and singing Karaoke rather than doing their Jobs. Avoid this place, go somewhere else, Magic Planet at MOE is amazing, reasonable, and the Staff are friendly.

Dear Bassilio, I am extremely disappointed you did not enjoy your visit to SEGA when you came in May 2015. I can assure you that since your visit in May there has been a change of management, and your concerns regarding park cleanliness and staff behaviour have already been addressed, and significant changes made. We are very proud of our park, and believe it offers something different from other Entertainment Centres, with our thrill rides and highly charged atmosphere. I hope you will visit us again soon, and see that it is a great leisure destination for family and thrill seekers alike. Kind regards, Victoria Williams General Manager

We are a family of 5 with 3 children aged 12, 8 and 5. We are spending a week in dubai and went to sega republic expecting a fun and exciting indoor attraction. The sega republic arcade is very very expensive and really not worth the money, the rides are mediocre to say the least, and you have to make pay extra for the games. It is a real rip off, our advise is do not get the day pass, go in and just pay for the games or rides you and the kids are interested in, and then move on. Kidzania is right next to it and really worth the money. Big boo for sega republic!!!:(((

If you're planning to have some fun, please don't dare to try this SEGA Republic! Me and my friends went to this place after watching some movies at Reel Cinemas (Dubai mall) we wanted to play but the staffs we're busy giggling with each other and they keep ignoring us. There was this guy named Ronald, he was very rude cashier. My friends and I were confused about the packages for gaming that they have, so we ask this Ronald what package will suits for us, He didn't even bothered to help us or something instead he told us "if you want to play buy a card which is 3 AED." On that moment I've felt really upset already. he doesn't know how to give a good customer service and he's really rude, he's sarcastic also like he have a doubt if we can afford to play in that trashy theme park. He ruined everything that night for me and my friends. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone.

Just walking around and came across this place. There is loads to do and keeps the children occupied and is not crammed into a small place but is well spread out. A visit is a must and you'll feel like a big kid, enjoy.

We saw Sega Republic in Dubai Mall in past visits but gave it a miss as we were usually short of time. With our youngest a bit older and as we could unlimited ride pass at a discount as part of entry to the Dubai Aquarium we decided to go for it and the kids were more vocal about attending this time.

It is based in two levels, more video games in the lower level and more rides on the upper floor. The kids certainly enjoyed the rides especially our youngest who quickly made friends with other kids and lead his new found gang to various rides.

You do have to fork out extra for the video games and other games and the kids were under strict instructions that they could only go on the rides that there wristband allows them to.

We went in the afternoon on a weekday so long lines were not an issue.
