The Palm Islands are three artificial islands, Palm Jumeirah, Deira Island and Palm Jebel Ali, on the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Palm Islands were conceived around the same time as The World, another artificial island project in Dubai.
Hard to have a good view of the island from down

We visited this amazing man made palm whilst staying at the JBR Dubai. Once in the palm itβs difficult to see its beauty, other than like the rest of Dubai itβs all new and well kept. The best place to see it is from the air or one of the local high rise buildings. We could easily see it from our hotel roof top terrace.

The iconic Palm has added a significant amount of leisure/ entertainment options recently, including:
The Pointe development - full of restaurants, shops and a huge fountain show with a back drop of the Atlantis;
Nakheel Mall which is full of shops and boasts a great food court and access to The View, a 360
degree platform sitting high above The Palm
West Beach, which has a number of licensed venues and beach clubs and great views of Dubai Marina.
In addition to the new items,The Palm is home to countless hotels and restaurants, a monorail which runs from top to bottom and you can also take in various great views by driving, walking or biking around the top end of The Palm.
You could spend days without leaving and not get bored.

This place is really nice to visit. There are many viewpoints that offer great views of the palm shape, and the walkways are quite scenic. We didnβt really do anything over there, just spent some time at the viewpoints. That in itself was a great experience.

An impressive achievement, created by man from zero. Some interesting sights here: The Lost Chambers Aquarium, Atlantis Aquaventure Aquatic Park. There is also a mall, Nakheel.
For a panoramic view, go up to the terrace at The View at The Palm.

Catch the Metro to Dubai Marina and change to the Palm mono rail out to the island. You will travel through rows and rows of palatial living as you pass each βpalm frondβ Avenue. Slowly approaching the far-off Atlantis hotel, across the azure expanse - with its Arabian Arches and spires β stark against the blue horizon; feels like travelling through ancient Egypt in the time of the Pharaohs at their peak of their power, wealth and influence.
This 15 minute ride is nothing short of a buzz and not to be missed!
Make sure you set the whole day aside though, because even that will not be enough to explore the labyrinth of luxury running on the outer rim of the palm Island. A day out here will certainly be swallowed up amidst the plush velvet cushions and lobbies.
Nothing this grand has been dreamed and built since the days of Eiffel and Guadi, off Palaces and Kings. This is the modern day Memphis of Grande, Palatial, luxury and awe inspiring opulence. Travelling out here was the top thing on my partners bucket list for Dubai. We headed out early and as I said, still didn't make it around all there is to see in one day. Before we knew it we were heading to the One & Only Resort on a beautiful sunset for the million dollar βferryβ ride back to the mainland, from the 101 One & Only Palm. (I donβt even think Ferry is the right word for the boat they use here)β¦
This is a day well spent in Dubai! It is also a place for fine dining of every kind; a world class water park and aquarium; shopping and high tea, all done within the style of desert kings and desert citadel oasesβ.
Perhaps the nicest thing on the journey out to the Atlantis Palm Resort and Water Park is the fact that H.H. Sheikh bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is a true visionary in not allowing the ugly New York Style Dubai Trump Skyscraper to foul the capped height of the Palm Island. Hats off to his vision and maintaining it capped at one level height. It is a marvel.
A day out here and you will feel like a millionaire β¦ with plenty happy-snap pictures to share!
TIPS : You will need two to three days to see all there is to see out on the outer rim resorts, its deceptive and much bigger than you imagine. A massive achievement. Make sure you catch the ferry back from 101 One and Only Palm (at Sunset).

Years before travelling to Dubai, I had read about βThe Plamβ. Being a technician I am fascinated by technological and engineering challenges . However, the result of "The Palm " is pretty mediocre. Most of the houses called Villas are but a pale imitation of Mediterranean style buildings, the result is quite similar to a movie set. No desing, no modern buildings, you will despair if you're an architect.
Atlantis Hotel puts the High Point, this hotel could be in Las Vegas. There is no justification for building a hotel of this size on a land stolen to the sea. The most grotesque is βThe water parkβ, being on that exorbitant costs land, it results in a pathetic magnet for tourist with more pretensions than style.
They promised that Villas will have βprivate beachβ. It can be seen in the photographs barely space to place a towel and you will be so close to the neighbors as you can imagine. A beach backwaters is what you always dreamed of .
Being a tourist in "The Plam " there is nothing to do, at least by the end of 2011. The monorail only stopped at the last stop in the Hotel Atlantis .I imagine that the view from the air must be impressive. As I said the project seemed admirable, the execution a fiasco.
It intended to be an exclusive place, surrounded by luxury. However I could not get rid of an apocalyptic science fiction movie image: An abandoned "Palm", semi invaded by the sea that always claims its site.
If you like soulless places, this is your destiny

Impressive engineering. Location is expensive. Seems to have too many buildings by now. Beach area was nice. Close to Marina area by taxi

Thanks to Luxury Sea Boats Charter for cruising. We had very nice boat for this sightseeing trip around Palm Jumeirah island. Everything was included, crew was the best. And price the cheapest in Dubai. We will come back!

I can think about Observatory Bar top floor which can provide you a beautiful view of Palm. Enjoy the experience :)))

Hi, how can the island be visited from the Sheikh Zayed Road area? what will be the best way? how much will a cab cost? please guide..
Written 26 October 2017
You can reach a station near the palm and then take the monorail to Atlantis Hotel, but it is much easier and better to take a cream colored cab. They are inexpensive. Do not use any other cabs, or vans. They call the others VIP cars, and they are twice the price. Use cream colored metered cabs only. Very cheap.

RSD travel offers discounted group tours. This is the second time that my family went for a group tour with RSD travel. They take good care of everyone from Day1 up to the last day from arrival to departure. Anyone will really have a memorable tour with RSD travel. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Dress code on Palm island for women? Also can you stay in the same hotel room if not married?
Written 25 May 2016
There is no dress code anywhere in dubai...except in mosques.
As regards stay in hotel room, each hotel has its own policy and it will be safer to check with the hotel where u plan to stay-for getting correct information.

Thanks,
Written 19 November 2015
