- moleadventuresLondon, United Kingdom376 contributionsWeird with some great bitsWe received complimentary access due to staying at the Lapita resort for a week. We visited mid week noting that the park opened at 11am but there was a lackadaisical attitude to opening rides and I would not recommend busting a gut to get there for 11am! It was eerily empty while we were there with a fraction of the footfall I would expect during half term. Still it did mean we whizzed around the rides really quickly once they finally opened!! Some rides were unavailable all week (Mad Pursuit for example) but we really enjoyed The Dragon Gliders ride which was excellent, The Smurfs Studio Tour, Shrek ride and Now You See Me rollercoaster. It’s good that the whole Dreamworks area is indoors when the heat becomes too much. Toilet facilities spotless. No free water / refill stations. Staff rather ambivalent to guests I thought and our second visit at the weekend was ridiculous as hardly any rides were open by 12.30! I felt sorry for people who weren’t staying at Lapita who would have travelled to the park and paid an entrance fee only to be confronted with 80% of the rides not yet open, unavailable or down due to technical difficulties!!! I’m surprised the studio names (Lionsgate, Columbia Pictures, Dreamworks etc.) allow this park to be run like this. It must be making a massive loss overall and I suspect it’s hard to find decent staff willing to stick it out. Finally the Halloween theming for the Hollywood was pretty adult and not suitable for young children and we didn’t see any special events but I suspect the park only came to life at night after we left.Dear MoleAdventures, Thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us. We set a high standard for ourselves, and while we are happy that you enjoyed some of our rides which you mentioned, we’re so sorry to hear that not all of your expectations were met in your interaction with our business on your second visit. We can’t fix the past but you have our commitment to improve the way our staff serves every customer. Until then, please accept our sincerest apologies while we look forward to another chance to earn your business. - Ivy H60 contributionsMotiongate lovely family day outOn arrival, we parked at the large car park just outside Riverland. We took the free mini bus transfer to the entrance of Motiongate. All three parks (Motiongate, Legoland Dubai and Legoland Water Park) are within walking distance from the car park. However, free regular transfer is available to the parks. Straight into the center of the park where Studio Central is located. Hollywood Theatre is where some great live shows and entertainment take place. The park has 4 themed areas: Columbia Pictures, Smurfs Village, Dreamworks and Lionsgate. Columbia Pictures: our favourite ride was The Green Hornet: High Speed Chase 🎢 kids wanted to on it several times, luckily there was no queue as the park had just opened. Smurfs Village: we had a tour behind the scenes of the Smurfs’ movie set. Nice and chilled ride to get away from the sun and have a little rest. Dreamworks: our family favourite ride was definitely Dragon Gliders. We got to see some of the park from above, it’s a moderate trill ride and lovely for families. Lionsgate had a few rides rated “high trill level” Now you see me: High Roller, and John Wick: Open Contract. Toilets are available around the park and just outside are the water fountains - so remember to refil your bottle. - Анна К1 contributionGreat place with high serviceToday my son and I visited this park. I want to note the high service, especially grateful to the manager Ammin, he simply saved us. We mistakenly bought tickets for the wrong date, Amin himself suggested trying to solve the problem. In the end, we got into the park without additional payments, and our tickets were changed. Thanks a lot! The park itself is an amazing place for a family adventure! very beautiful locations, attractions for every taste! highly recommend!Dear L2228LI_, Thank you for your review & feedback. We bought the Q-Fast and it was completely unnecessary. The park is big and the crowd was light. The John wick ride was the most exhilarating. - Mohammed S289 contributionsGood rides but good quality needs to improveTook my son and a few of his friends for the day. Got there about midday and with the QFast extra they managed to get in all the rides before it became busy later in the day. Some good rides for teenagers: bullet train, Madagascar, Jon Wick and the rest are ones they can enjoy but not really thrill for teenagers. It’s nice and cool in the winter months especially with the outdoor walking - although some rides are inside. One big gripe is the quality of the food. Lots of crepe, snack type places but for lunch the quality is low, especially the cafe in Dreamworks. This is one thing motiongate could improve: the quality of lunch/food offerings. It’s a bit of a walk from the entrance to motiongate but 10 AED a person and you can get dropped off by one of the buggies.Dear R3200TXmohammeds, Thank you for taking the time to write us an honest review! I visited the park with my two nieces and my Dad on 29th December. I was expecting it to be busy as it was the holidays but what I experienced was utter chaos.
We had to visit customer services when we arrived due to an issue with my nieces annual passes which took an hour to resolve due to the unmanaged chaos, with lots of people jumping the queue with no management from motiongate staff. This experience was reflected throughout the day with beyond reasonable waiting times and no management of people pushing their way into lines without any intervention from the staff. We even had to wait in line for 45 minutes to get something to eat. By the end of the day one of my nieces had only been able to get on one ride and my other niece three rides (one big ride and two less popular). I had been willing to purchase the Q fast at what I feel is an extortionate rate of 190dhs each that were advertised as being available in all the park shops. However, when I tried to purchase from a few outlets I was told they were only available from the customer services and I certainly wasn’t prepared wasting more time waiting there in another line. I was pleased I didn’t get them as the Q fast lines were also long.
I had pre purchased my Dads ticket as he doesn’t have a pass like the rest of us. As this was scanned at the entrance before we were told we had to visit customer services, when we returned to the park we were told that his ticket was already used and had to enter into a debate about whether he would be allowed in.
I have had positive experiences on previous visits but I was really disappointed in my last visit that turned out to be an expensive waste of a day and more upsetting than fun for my niece's
I did email motiongate on the 5th January to let them know about my experience and was assured I would receive a response in 72hrs. I'm still waiting for a response despite 2 further reminders .................

It was our second visit and it did not disappoint.
They have some great thrilling rides such as Madagascar, bullet train or Dragons, and other smoother great attractions.
If the queues are too long you can get the Q fast pass, which you can book in advance or buy in the park from the shops while already inside the park. I found it really worth it as they operate at lower capacity due to COVID restrictions.
In all we had a great fun day as a family !

Second visit and nothing has changed. I read there are plans to expand the park following the collapse of the theme park which was to be built next door as numbers are down and not attracting the foreign tourists. The themes are now somewhat dated as based on out of date films. Rides are ok and more for young kids but lack anything for the real adrenaline junkies.
Queues can be long and simply not worth the wait as rides not long enough or ground breaking enough to warrant the time.
On a quiet day it is a nice day out with younger kids as can enjoy the rides with minimal wait times. We only went back as free tickets being offered which kind of tells you something. Park is located approx an hour away from the city. There is a hotel there and what appeared to be a Lego themed hotel being built to attract visitors to stay on site and enjoy all the parks. It will be interesting to see how the parks evolve in the future.

We went to Motiongate between Christmas and the New Year for the first time. Operations were dreadful and really ruined the experience. Ride operations were very slow. I understand the additional cleaning required but other parks have been much more efficient. We purchased the express entry which was not cheap to try to get on more rides but operations were slow here so you would be waiting a while in these queues as well which meant we still were not able to go on all the rides we wanted to in the park.
The worst part is the dining options which were really limited and lots were closed. We ended up queuing and waiting an hour off peak for lunch at 5pm inside the Smurfs land for fast food. More options needed to be open across the park.
The pros were the entrance and walk up the park which had lots of similarities to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and certain rides that were very good. I would recommend the Dreamworks rides like Madagascar and How to Train Your Dragon. The dark rides like Shrek, Smurfs and Hotel Transylvania are excellent for young kids which make it far better for families than IMG. There are also a lot of basic rides. Ghostbusters is awful given the IP and the chance to make it really exciting. KungFu Panda simulator is also very basic. Hopefully the newer coasters make the Lionsgate area a bit more exciting as its a bit lonely with the Hunger Games rides that are nothing much to shout about
This has the potential to be an excellent park with removal or redesigning of the poorer rides and far better operations across rides and dining.

This review is about MOTIONGATE™ Dubai, part of Dubai Parks & Resorts, Hollywood-inspired theme, consist of three Hollywood studios – Sony Pictures, DreamWorks Animation and Lionsgat. It’s a long drive going there from the City of Dubai. Parking is huge and free, thou you need to walk long till you reach the free shuttles taking you to the main gate if you are lucky, that was bomber in this heat, with family and elder person. Not all customers paid the same, some came for free, others on discounted vouchers, few more paid by their companies, and you have walk in customer pays dang ticket cost and the last one is the VIP its expensive but help you cut the lines on extremely busy day. Good place to be with family, teen members, young friends. Few choices of food but you can manage if you are willing to pay the price, did not see any drinking water fountains and toilets was another bomber. The park is divided into Themes and they are all wonderful, with fun games you need the right partner thou. This not the place for babies or children under 5 coming with their families. To enjoy the day, wear comfortable clothes and shoes, bring your medicine with you in case you have health issues, choose your game carefully according to your capacity, I saw people fainting and vomiting and that isn’t cool to see. I suggest small backpack to keep your things save. There is not WIFI in this place and if there is its very poor, further I suggest to have power bank for your mobiles.

As a fun treat thought we'd go to Motiongate during the Christmas period. As we wanted to use the entertainer, we were obliged to stand in line as you cannot purchase tickets online when using the entertainer voucher.
This was our first experience of how bad the queuing system is at Motiongate. There were over 10 counters that are meant to be used for buying tickets before entering, yet they had 3 open. We stood in line for 2 hours in the boiling heat and we hadn't even entered the park yet! The lines went way past the shaded areas and there was no fans or nothing, there was no real customer care in place. When approaching staff to ask why they don't open at least another counter I was rudely spoken to and told they were short-staffed, as if this was an issue of my own as the customer.
After that entering the park we were ready to stand in some queues because it is a theme park after all, we stood in queues for 2 hours at a time, even when standing next to a sign that says 40mins wait only ? ... After 8 hours at the park, we went on only 4 RIDES ! Honestly, it felt like was such a waste of money, paying to go all the way out to Dubai Parks and then to only go on 4 rides was a bit of a joke. The 4 rides we did go on were good fun so that's why its irritating to have to give this kind of review because the entire experience was ruined.
I was very disappointed because I know Christmas is a busy season but as a park that is advertising to come there everywhere on social media, I'd expect them to be ready for an inflow of people in these popular tourist periods.

Dear Jaydeas,
Our sincere apologies for the unpleasant experience during your park visit and we highly valued your feedback to take require actions.
We believe you are aware of Entertainer T&C for the online ticket restrictions for discounted tickets.
During the seasonal period, we always recommend our valued guest to get Q-Fast to avoid queues.
Kindly provide your e-mail address or contact us at guest.services@Motiongatedubai.com to address this issue more efficiently.

Don't expect much, not in the league with European or US entertainment parks. If it is a holiday and if you don't have a Quick Pass (meaning double payment), you have to wait around 45-90mins for each play. You don't get what you pay for. Loss of time and money. No proper places to eat and rest. Not enough sign and nice brochures. The only aim is to sell cheap stuff after each show. It is obvious that it is not managed by a clever manager.

Motion Gate in Dubai.
We had one of the worst experiences at Motion Gate yesterday 28th Dec 2020.
We spent 6 hours and only got to ride 4 rides!! Why?? Because the capacity was over and beyond, we actually had to wait in line for 2 hours and a half to get to a 10sec ride!! I honestly wanted to leave the minute we entered but my family were visiting from Abudhabi and the kids were super excited. By the end of it, everyone was disappointed.
The experience was just horrible!! I will never ever recommend visiting MotionGate on holidays or weekends to anyone as they are not equipped for anything beyond a 1000 visitors!
Extremely disappointed and exhausted!

An amazing amusement park. It was around Halloween so the park was decorated to suit the event and some shows were related to Halloween. All rides and games are amazing. The best was Madagascar indoor roller coaster, green hornet rollr coaster and the Hunger games roller coaster. So much fun. You can spend a full day to get a chance to enjoy all attractions. Restaurants are available for quick snacks or for a seated lunch. Drinks and ice cream shops are available everywhere. It was mot crowded during this time of the year although it was a friday. we visited this Dec as the park had recently reopened. highly recommend you get there in the morning as soon as it opens to be the guest in line and avoid long waiting times. Although there were no crowds , the waiting time could still average 30min bc of the distinction of the ride between each family. it's tedious and a little extra cautious in my opinion. I would have felt safe doing my own disinfection or just sterilizing my hands before and after the ride.. basically i thought the covid measures created unnecessary waiting times bc there weren't enough staff to do this.
it gets crowded after 2pm so if you have small kids get there in the morning. there are many family rides that aren't scary at all but check height requirements if you have kids below 5.

In the UK a lot of theme parks have a line for parents that allows one parent to get on the ride and when they get off do a swap-over with the other parent immediately. Is this an option as we are travelling with a 1.5yr old.

Is Fast Pass (Q-Fast) worth the cost in Motion Gate Dubai or not? As many people say that the Fast Pass Queue is longer than the normal one.

Are they very strict with height limits? My daughter is about 85 cm tall, and I would like to know if she could also enter the attractions that require a minimum height of 90 cm, accompanied of course. Thank you

Hello to all,
We are visiting Dubai in a couple of days. My two children are 5 ( girl) and 7 and a half ( boy).
I was wondering which Park is most suitable for their ages? Motiongate or IMG world of adventures.
Thank you in advance ❤️

Hi travelling during April Ramadan, will the cafe / snack bars / food places be open in motiongate & Legoland for lunch or the McDonald's at Riverland & other restaurants near theme parks be open for food ?
Thanks
