- afzal f1 contributionA unique experienceNot your regular zoo. The concept is very unique and exciting, place is divided into different villages based on the animal species and habitat. Excellent place for kids. We recommend arriving early and getting the safari journey ticket instead of the basic entry ticket. Wear light clothes and shoes as there will be a lot of walking to do. The staff are so courteous, welcoming, approachable and polite. Special Thanks to Mohamed Abdullah, our tour guide for the 35mins Safari Journey. He was so engaging, informative, humorous and made the whole journey a memorable experience. Highly recommended.Dear valued guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experience at Dubai Safari Park. - Leeza HenryAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates1 contributionAmazing place to beExcellent place for an outing with family where the experience would surely be worth it. We had booked our Safari Journey tickets which gives access to all the areas in the park which includes African, Asian and Arabian village. But the overall highlight of our visit was the Safari trip which is 40 mints ride in a bus and u get to see all animals around you openly. Shout out to our amazing guide Mr Shahir who provided us with a great memorable safari experience and gave us interesting info about animals too. Would surely recommend the place to everyone!Dear Leezah, Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experience at Dubai Safari Park. - KarenLawlorPortlaoise, Ireland25 contributionsBrilliant experienceWe visitied Dubai park and safari recently and we had an amazing time. It is a really well set up and well run park and it is clear to see that all of the animals there are well cared for and looked after. The safrai tour was even better than we had expected. It felt surreal getting to see so many beautiful animals up close. Our safari guide Agatha was fantastic. She was really friendly and professional. After the safari Agatha informed us that we could go and feed the giraffes which was another fantastic experience. - Hamza1 contributionThe best staff, experience and amazing time! What a beautiful experience I had! However, there was something which stood out the most. This was the amazing service I was provided by Ahsan, Shaheer, Ameer. I had lost the keys for my car and realised at the end when the safari was closing. Ahsan, Shaheer and Ameer had noticed that I was stressed and kindly approached me to see what was wrong. They had finished their shift but had willingly stayed back to help me find my keys. This took us around 2-3 hours which I feel so blessed to come across these guys. They were so so helpful and were happy to stay back to help find my key (which they did find!!) Ahsan, Shaheer and Ameer, if you are reading this, thank you so much again for staying behind when your shift had finished to help me find my keys and it was really nice to meet you guys. May Allah bless all 3 of you for your kindness and I will definitely be making a return :)Dear valued guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experience at Dubai Safari Park. - Yasmine O3 contributionsWonderful experience thanks to Amin, an incredible guideVisiting the park zoo was already a special experience, but what made the day unforgettable was our tour guide, Amin. Right from the start of our bus tour, Amin captivated our attention with his incredible passion for wildlife, and his in-depth knowledge and infectious enthusiasm for every species we encountered enabled us to see the park in a whole new light. It wasn't just his knowledge that impressed us, but also his ability to convey that knowledge in an accessible and captivating way. Each explanation was a perfect blend of scientific information, fascinating anecdotes and humor. Amin was able to create an atmosphere that was both educational and entertaining, which is no easy task.Dear Valued guest, We are delighted that you had such a memorable time exploring our park and enjoyed the experience with our guide. - Cruiser409628941592 contributionsIt's about Dubai Jungle Safari. The Dubai Jungle Safari is really beautiful, it's a one day trip for the people who wants to visit and comeback, it's almost 40 to 50 min drive from central dubai. The best thing in this trip was the Jungle Safari and it was fun as we had a tour guide, Agatha Odembo with us she sang and gave full information about the animals and their specie must go place with your kids and family it's a lot to walk inside so be prepared and stuff your bags with snacks and water as it's very expensive inside the Dubai safari park. We enjoyed and hope you guys too.Dear Valued guest, We are delighted that you had such a memorable time exploring our park and enjoyed the experience with our guide. Visited dubai safari first time with family which included children. It is a highly overrated place with no common etiquette and lack of professionalism. We discovered upon reaching that we have to pay a taxi 10 dhm per head each time we use it between villages( I have visited so many zoos in the world and never come across such commercialism, we paid a handsome entrance fees already!). Then, much to our dismay, The safari bus got stuck for a good 40-45 mins in the midst of the animal enclosures as a door wouldn’t open and the tigers couldn’t be retained because of which we were stuck with kids in a stationery bus in covid times! After waiting and being told that the problem is being resolved, the driver had to take a u turn and go back! We missed seeing the rest of the animals! The tour guide, who had so conveniently said at the beginning that he would not share details of all animals because he’s fasting wasn’t even apologetic of this debacle. In the month of ramzan, the park should have hired a non-Muslim maybe as a tour guide instead of a Fasting, unwilling tour guide to entertain us?
Because of the delay in the safari bus, by the time we go off, it was 5:15 pm and much to our disappointment, almost all enclosures were closing down( the official time to close is 6 pm). The zoo-keepers, again were very non chalant in telling that the park is closing, go away, we have another night pass at 6 pm so we are getting ready for that. Wow, if that is the case, then why mention that the park closes at 6? We came to the park later in the day because of the sweltering heat, but had planned to see all villages. However, because of the safari bus problem, and the enclosures all closing well before their time, we couldn’t see any animals at all apart from the safari bus till it was moving! We couldn’t go to the Asian village or kids farm or anywhere else!
The last straw was being told that since it was 5:50 pm, the complimentary trains which take visitors only in one direction( we discovered that earlier when we wanted to visit African village from the bus safari stop and couldn’t as the train only goes one way!) were not running anymore, so we had to walk all the way to the parking lot!
I really wish I could ask for a refund, as none of it was my fault! My son, who is crazy about animals, commented that it was a disappointing trip for him, and compared to so many other zoos we have visited internationally, this was the most over charged and unhelpful one we have visited.

BEWARE - DO NOT be scammed by the "sold out" tickets, followed by the double charge "upgrade".
We visited the park today and would NOT recommend it to anyone! It is a money-making racket, absolutely shocked at the lack of transparency to customers with regards to availability of tickets and pricing.
We got there and were told the safari tickets were SOLD OUT. I requested the ladies at the tickets counter if they could try and do something or if i can purchase the safari option through a different method (maybe online) as we were visiting for my son's birthday and that was the main attraction of the park he was looking forward to! but they said there is NO chance at all for the day.
We were really disappointed and only purchased the park entrance tickets. After making the payment and leaving the counter, i had to return 1dh change back to the cashier so I went back to the counter (after maybe 30 secs) and to my utter shock, I hear the same lady giving safari tickets to the person who came right after me!!!
We then went to the guest desk to find out what was going on and they all had this 'knowing look' and had some 'insider chatter' before letting me know that we would have to pay DOUBLE if we wanted to go on the safari. And all of this discussion made us lose a good 45mins of time before they could figure out what price to charge!! Shouldn't there be a fixed price and fixed process of payment???
Absolutely disgusted with the customer service and would never return here. They ruined the mood and enthusiasm of our visit. Never had such an experience at any park or entertainment facility like this in Dubai before.

Overall, pretty average is as good as I can say about the place, with shortcomings in so many of the areas.
Visited on a Friday morning, plenty of parking and close to the entrance, so good start. I didn't prebook tickets as I was not sure the place was trading during COVID, plus it has had a very erratic opening and closing periods since it first launched. Buying tickets was quick, no lines, was told by the lady selling them that I could only buy the basic ticket, the one which had the extra coach safari was not available, so I assumed that was not open.
Inside the way finding is poor to say the least, after having visited parks and zoos the world over, this falls far short, knowing where to go was a challenge and the staff are too interested in their phones to be of any help.
African village is the big stop, first on the route too, with lots of exhibits and attractions there, certainly the most diverse and time consuming section with some nice areas, like the aviary, which has plenty of birds to walk amongst. Other areas there were something of a let down and the animal conditions seemed far from ideal. The gorillas were quite sedentary, not helped by a lack of anything in their cage which stimulated them, pretty bare floors and limited toys, not an ideal environment.
The thought process which designed the animal enclosure layouts was not that good, with in many cases, the animals seeking shade at the rear so there was nothing to see and with the exception of the lions and elephants, quantities of animals were very low, with single animals in many cases.
There was an internal "train" to move you around, next stop was Explorer Zone, which is where the safari was, but despite being told there were no tickets, the thing was running but of course, I was not allowed in as I didn't have a ticket. Clearly, was not just me, I saw around 15 people turned away and all said they were told no for tickets at the entrance, so lost revenue there for the operators.
There were a number of shows you could see, but unlike better run places, where the times are shown and the performances are frequent, you had no idea when the shows were until you asked a sullen guide, and then found out there was a huge wait for the next show. So, all in all, not that much to see or do.
Some general comments, despite being run by the government entity who check and control COVID compliance in Dubai, there were so many people not wearing masks which were not challenged by staff, cleaning was very poor and maintenance was even worse, with may things dirty or broken. Limited hand sanitizers available and these were often blocked by staff who seemed to congregate there to chat and when you asked if you get to them they seemed most unhappy that you were interrupting their chat.
All in all, a pretty mediocre zoo and not that customer focussed, which is a real shame, it could be so much better given the size and nice location.

For a zoo experience in the Middle East I think they’ve done the best job possible. Great value for money (buy the combo ticket with the Adventure Safari included) and excellent attempts at keeping the guests and animals as cool and comfortable as possible, including AC built into the rocks in some of the big cat enclosures.
Yes some animals look tired and slow but they would also look this way in their natural habitat during midday temperatures. And if you’ve visited any other zoos globally they will appear the same. Those bothered by animals in captivity will not have their opinion changed by this zoo, and don’t go with expectations of seeing a ‘performance’ from the animals. Most animals rest for 90% of the day, if you’re expecting the Cheetahs to be sprinting for you all day long, perhaps you need to educate yourself on nature before visiting.
I recommend getting there early before the heat of the day to maximise chances of spotting animals whilst they’re active. Start with the safari, then Africa and finish with Asia and the Desert animals.
Good day out for families and recommend to tourists if you’re a fan of the zoo/safari park experience.

I came from Ajman with 3 small children to experience this place for the first time. Arrived at 9:45 just as it was our turn to buy the tickets the system 'went down'. I had to stand at the glass window for almost 1 hour for them to fix the problem. During this time all 3 children ended up crying. There was nowhere to sit. And nothing to do, but wait and wait and wait. The man eventually used his phone to purchase our tickets online which then needed to be downloaded to my phone to be scanned to enter. When I explained my phone was not working and not able to download anything. I was sent between 3 other staff to try and figure out a way to enter the park. By this time my children were incredibly distraught and bored and wanting to go home. We eventually were let in without showing the tickets at the scanner,by a friendly Indian man whom seemed like a manager. This was nice of him to do, however at the end of our day upon leaving we had to scan tickets to exit. Which I didn't have in my phone, which again caused a delay explaining that the entry staff had allowed us entry without scanning tickets....besides this awful experience on the first Friday morning since reopening, inside is beautiful. We couldn't buy the full package tickets as they had sold out, within the first hour of being open?! So that meant we had to walk everywhere. We only did African village and called it a day. It's simply too hot to walk and very disappointing we couldn't purchase the bus or Safari tickets which would've given us a ride through the full park. From what we did experience, the staff were all friendly inside. The place is alot nicer for animals than the old Dubai zoo in jumeirah, and I commend the staff and all management for building these beautiful animals a much nicer home in 2020. Still wished the enclosures for the elephants and gorillas were larger with more greenery for them to enjoy. Even some water or ponds or something given the extreme heat. I can't help but feel sorry for the animals as most seemed lethargic and bored. Would recommend everyone to go, as it's a beautiful green environment in the UAE. Will go again but book online maybe weeks prior to guarantee the complete tickets to the bus rides, save us walking in the hot sun. Food trucks are not a good idea as there is nowhere to sit and consume what you buy. Thanks everyone and God Bless.

About the positive: It's a beautiful zoo with large enclosure, animals are in good shape. The infrastructures are modern and it's very clean.
Now a few things left to desire, first of all the concept to have to take a bus to reach each part of the zoo is really bothersome as you always have to wait queuing to get into it.
Then they ask you to fold your stroller all the time even if you have a baby sleeping in it, they should find a solution.
As there isn't a proper tour display you don't know which way to start you may end up missing some animals. It is very big and we only manage to do the African zone. Like us you my not be able to see all the animals. Honestly there is too much walking distance and this make our journey complicated with kids.
Despite these negative points we still had a great afternoon.

A great day at the Dubai Safari Park! Truly an amazing park where it is clear that the animals come first. Enclosures are large and natural, animals look healthy and happy, and the staff are very friendly.
Highly recommend purchasing the Combo ticket, getting there early and going straight to the Explorer Village - where you embark on a safari bus trip through multiple wildlife enclosures. Our guide Hamza was very knowledgeable and was always sure to interact with the kids.
The take your time strolling through the remainder of the park at your leisure, stopping off for drinks, snacks and lunch along the way. Be sure not to make any other plans that day, as the park will most likely take up the whole day - if you want to see it all.

We visited the safari park on Friday, December 31. As soon as we entered the park, it started to rain heavily and the park is not equipped for rain or winter at all. We were all completely wet and waiting for a bus to hide from the rain. The bus driver kept driving because the Safari Park was closed due to the weather and there was no place equipped to drop us off. The road was full of water and all the animals were hiding in their shelters. We didn't get to explore any part of the park, we got stuck in the bus, and after half an hour the driver took us back to the entrance. We tried to speak with the customer service team to get them to reschedule our tour as we didn't have a chance to see or explore anything due to the bad weather and the unequipped park. We waited for over half an hour to receive a response from them and in the end they said that management could not reschedule or refund our ticket. I compare my experience to going to a restaurant where the kitchen is closed, you don't eat anything and you still have to pay. We paid for 2 tickets and saw nothing, not a single animal!

An exceptional and memorable day out. The Park is the best I've been to, (though Al Ain is also great) an uplifting experience with the animals in large, clean and green enclosures. Not feeling sorry for the animals makes a big difference from a normal zoo. The package ticket is a must, it gives you the ride through the main park on an bus with a guide. Ours was Adnan, who was full of knowledge and a great host. All the staff were helpful, no queues on a week day, the park was spotless and beautifully kept. The gorilla house was closed, the only animal I missed, but I'll see it another day.
All in all it's a must-do attraction in Dubai and I can't wait to go again.

We had a wonderful day out at Dubai Safari Park yesterday, the staff is very polite and ready to go the extra mile to make the visit for guests the best.
Overall experience is nice, but please add more outlets, air conditioned! People want to eat after animal encounters at a cozy and nice restaurant, outside food trucks are not relevant for this place due to heat. Also add more animals on display. There are not many on display for the guests to see. Change the Explorer experience buses for the winter with open rooftop ones, people want to have full Safari experience! Current buses are good for summer heat only. Even though I suggest to close the park for Summer Season.
Overall, awesome experience, we will definitely come back again in winter🙂

Are wheelchairs available at the Dubai Safari Park? Are they free or chargeable?

Hello, we are planning to visit Dubai Safari Park with a 2 year-old toddler and I would like to know more about the bus tour experience with a kid?
- is it crowded?
- are there any stops and you can go out of the bus and then get in again?
- if you decide not to have it included in the ticket, you just walk on your own and visit the animals and take the train to move from one area to the other?
- is the bus tour experience worth?
Written 20 March 2024
Hi we took the safari king tour
You get your own guide and private bus so worth the extra penny
And he stops where you want 😉

We are arriving in Dubai next week and are planning to purchase the Safari Journey plus ticket as this appears to include everything ! Some pictures on trip advisor show jeeps / camel rides and feeding giraffes- is EVERYTHING included with this ticket (apart from food &drink ) ? Or are there additional cost ?
Written 15 October 2022
The rides come in additional cost.. Better to book those ahead of your arrival. You can call them or check their website. Normally advanced booking is required specially when weather is cooler in dubai cuz its on high demand.

Would I know what is the difference between Safari Journey & Safari journey Plus tickets?
