One of the attractions of Isfahan (Esfahan). Old and silent but worth visiting. Close to city centre, one can walk beside the dry river and visit a few old bridges and then walk through old Charbagh street to other historical attractions. Best time to visit...More

There’s no river anymore due to water being diverted to other parts of Iran, the river comes back a couple of times a year. Still beautiful to see during night time.

Near the city centre and very lively. Many locals use it as a meeting point. Sunset, in my opinion, is the best time to visit it.

Unfortunately the river has been dry for ten years due to the drought but this doesn't stop the bridge being a meeting place for the locals. Especially around midnight spontaneous singing starts with various groups practicing the acoustics under the bridge.

This bridge was built on the Zayande river that is not now! It is symbol of a poet who born in Kerman and died in Shiraz.

Beautiful bridge with 23 arches. It is decorated with tiles and paintings. Unfortunately the water has been diverted so there is no water under the bridge. You can sit and listen to the singers

You do not expect such a curious architecture for a bridge . Since it is forbidden to cars , it became a family and lover birds attraction .

Apart from the historical and artistic importance I suggest visitors do what most Iranians do ... sit under its columns and listen to the local singers. It adds a different touch of beauty to its natural beauty.

I was fascinated by the bridges. Do yourself a favour and rent a bike and cycle along the riverbank. The park goes for kilometers
