The vastness of the garden and the architecture of the serai is imposing. A walk through the garden in the morning while the mist still hangs around is magical.

Akbari Sarai is at the center of the Shahdara Complex with Jahangir's Tomb on one side and Asif Khan's on the other. Empress Nur Jahan's tomb is not far away as well. Akbari Sarai was meant to accommodate Royal Mughal guests/merchants whenever they visited Lahore.
