This is a huge, working monastery. Make sure you guide is good, call ahead to get the language you want to get so he is ready for you.

This monastery is one of the 4 ancient coptic monasteries of Wadi Al Natrun and it is the nearest to Cairo (around km 90). If possible, visit on week days and not on high feasts to avoid crowds. Make sure not to attempt a visit...More
