both Turnul Negru (Black Tower) and Turnul Alb (White Tower) are located on hillside, so it is best to visit both in one go via the dirt path

view of the Brasov old town is better from White Tower.

A semi-circular tower - the White Tower- built also outside the fortification of the city of Brasov, connected with a mobile bridge - that 1 history today - only a staircase is going up from the Graft Bastion.
It is built also in the 15th century like the Black Tower - with the same purpose - stand alone fortification outside the city walls, as a watchtower to spot enemy movements if needed - originally it was towering 20 m above the city walls - so from its murder holes, balconies and ramparts the defenders could create some serious damage during sieges and if everything went south ... through the mobile bridge connecting the tower to the Graft Bastion ... that bridge is gone a long time ago.
The views are nice and somewhat similar to those from the Black Tower..
What is unfortunate - this 1 is also closed so you can't climb the tower , it is stained with meaningless graffiti - still don't get it why you need to damage a historical monument by spraying it with graffiti ....well whatever ....
You can visit the White Tower and the Black Tower in the - almost - the same time - is just 7-8 minutes walk between the 2 ....

Great view of the town although not too different from the view of the Black Tower. If you are planning a trip up, the steps in front of it are a killer! Its best to take a gentle stroll up to the black tower and then from halfway up the tarmac slope, take the mud path across the side of the hill to this one and then work your way down the other side. It wasn't open when we went and didn't look like it had been open for some time either. The platform at the front is a good enough substitute for a view of the old town.

It is a pretty easy walk up to the tower from the city center. There are steps to the building. The tower itself was closed, but there is a very nice view over the city of Brasov. It is absolutely worth a visit, even though it was closed when I was there. It will take about 20 minutes with walking up and down and enjoying the view. It is a good combination with the black tower.

Spend some time to enjoy a panorama on old city Brașov. Unfortunately was closed in Spring. Plan it together with Black Tower.

This lovely white tower, built in the 1400’s, is a beautiful piece of history in Braşov. Although the interior is closed, it’s worth a short visit to climb the wooden steps facing the city and take in the views.

A wooded path winds it’s way from the Old City to the tower and just up the road is a cute little park. There are a few parking places. No dogs allowed.

White Tower (a.k.a. Turnul Alb) is a former defensive tower on Warthe Hill which protected the west side of medieval Brasov. A steep staircase (250m) ascends to it from Bastionul Graft. Alternatively, a delightful (and less steep) path through the woods starts from the small canal just west of Strada Dupa-Ziduri, north of Bastionul Fierarilor. The 20m semi-circular tower was built in 1494 on top of a rock, and gets its name from its whitewash coating. The walls are 4 m thick at the base; five machicolations (boxes on brackets with holes in the floor for dropping rocks or shooting) project from the walls near the top of the tower. In medieval times the tower was maintained and defended by the tin and coppersmiths guilds. The tower was damaged in the great fire of 1689, and repaired in 1723. The tower interior was renovated in 2006, and now contains temporary exhibits provided by the Brasov County Museum of History. The glass-roofed top deck provides panoramic views of old Brasov and the Black Church. White Tower is open from 9am to 5pm with an entry fee of 7 lei (child discount).

This White Tower stands on the hills above Brasov old town and provides a great place from which to view the city. The tower itself had some graffiti damage when I visited, but it was a nice walk to get there.

White tower is a part of the old city defensive system and is pretty easy to spot from the city, while basking in the sun.

An old structure from the former defensive system, with a simple architecture, a disappointment for tourists, because it cannot be visited. All you can do is to go around and take some pictures. However, it's worth the effort to get to it because from the platform in front of it you have a beautiful view of the old city.
