St. Louis Church Krsevan is one of the most beautiful and best preserved in central Zadar. After the fall of the Roman Empire in the 6th century, the church was named in 649 and was built to house the remains of San Grisogono. The current Romanesque-style structure was consecrated in 1175. The facade stands out for its simple lines, blind arches that follow the Listing of the Cornice, and a sequence of eight half-point niches interspersed with columns.

A Romanesque church that stands out in town .It is over 900 years old and not much left of the original interior but the exterior is impressive and when lit up at night, is rather aesthetically extraordinary.

The Romanesque Church of St Chrysogonus got its name after one of the patron saints of Zadar, and it was consecrated by Zadar bishop Lampridius in 1175. It was built on the site of the Roman emporium and the Church of St Anthony the Hermit from the 6th century.
The Church of St Chrysogonus had several adaptations and enlargements over the centuries, however, today this is the only part remaining of the former great Medieval Benedictine Monastery which was destroyed in World War II.
It is located near the Sea Gate in the Old Town and we did not visit the interior. The entrance door was tightly closed and there were no signs in the surrounding area, so we were unable to obtain information such as opening hours. If it is open, bonus. In the square in front of the church stood a lonely statue of St. Chrysogonus.

Even though we passed by at different times, we always found it closed. The Romanesque style exterior features a beautiful façade with a loggia with blind arches. Also worth seeing is the external apse with colonnade.

Don’t waste your time coming over and over to try to visit this temple.
It only opens for concerts. Instead, admire the façade, the exterior side wall and the apse.

A large romanic basilica tucked away in a small square near the Sea Gate. Well worth a look if you're passing by.

A monastery church and male Benedictine monastery from 1175.
Besides the church there are remains of a Benedictine monastery from the Middle Ages which was destroyed in World War II, as well as the bell-tower (started in 1485 but never completed).

I liked the place, very old and the architecture is interesting. It is also very big, usually, I only found relatively small churches around Zadar but this one is different.
