Beautiful church but the main attraction is the Bell Tower.
20kn charge to walk up and see the view, we went up during the day and night and were very impressed by both (only charged once).
A must do whilst in Zadar

This church is absolutely beautiful! I went in and sat for a bit to take it all in for there is so much to see. I love history and I love churches so this was a win/win for me. One is allowed to take photos but please dress appropriately (there are signs for no shorts for men and women). I happened to be passing by later in the day and heard the organ music. I went back in and sat for a couple of pieces played by a very skilled organist. They played for about 30 minutes after I got there. Sitting and listening to such beautiful music in such a setting (and amazing acoustics), I saw a few more details that I had missed my first visit. It is free to go in, but like most churches of old, donations are appreciated. I highly recommend this church. Take the time to sit and really take it all in.

The Cathedral of St. Anastasia is right in the heart of town close to the old Roman Forum and very easy to find. My family and I had a short stop off in Zadar whilst on a TUI cruiser and we all enjoyed the visit to this beautiful building. Entrance is free, however the Bell Tower costs 2 Euros and has quite a few narrow steps, so be careful.

This was a very upsetting experience. I arrived at the cathedral on a super hot day and was wearing shorts. Seeing the sign, I just paused at the back of the cathedral knowing I couldn’t enter. The woman at the desk was so unpleasant, saying that I was disrespecting God. When I countered, saying that I was sure that God would welcome everyone into His church, she became even more angry. We had a wonderful stay in Zadar and appreciated the warm welcome of Croatians wherever we went. How sad that our only negative experience was in a place of worship.

Roman Catholic Cathedral of St. Anastasia is the largest one at the Adriatic coast. It was built in 4th century with richly decorated interior and is one of the most attractive tourist site in Zadar. It's tower with marvelos view is impressive, too.

The Cathedral of St. Anastasia to give it is proper name is right in the heart of town close to the old Roman Forum. The church's origins date back to a Christian basilica built in the 4th and 5th centuries, while much of the currently standing three-nave building was constructed in the Romanesque style during the 12th and 13th centuries.
The largest church in Dalmatia, it features a bell tower completed by Englishman Thomas Graham Jackson in the 1890s. It really does have an Italian feel to it.

Zadar Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Anastasia (Croatian: Prvostolnica sv. Stosija). The interior is quite nice, but the entrance fee of €3 is not necessary. So in my opinion, a look at the beautiful facade is enough. It is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Built in Romanesque style between the 12th and 13th centuries, the Cathedral has a richly decorated facade and an interior with three naves. In the left apse there is the sarcophagus which houses the relics of Saint Anastasia. Of particular value are the choir stalls decorated in late Gothic style. It is possible to climb the bell tower from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city.

The Cathedral of St. Anastasia is the largest cathedral in the region of Dalmatia and one of the most important historical landmarks of the city. Built in Romanesque style, its current structure dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries, although its origins date back to the 9th century. The sinar tower, separated from the main body of the cathedral, offers spectacular panoramic views of Zadar and the Adriatic Sea.
