From the moment you walk through the gate you will be astounded by the beauty of the street with many alleys leading to many restaurants and bars and shops and churches and museums and of coarse the harbour.

This is a lovely preserved Main street in the old town and long may it continue. Its totally trodden and so, so, very busy. We did not enjoy it during the day, it much better at night, when its cooler and less busy. Shope are...More

We loved walking down this street. It's the main thoroughfare through Old Town full of people, shops, bars, entertainment, and leads you down to the Church and Bell Tower and harbour with restaurants and markets. The entrance to the surrounding wall is just off to...More

Whew, on a hot and sunny day there is no shade to help you cool off! Extremely busy thoroughfare. Wear sunscreen. Get gelato. Go indoors. But do visit and take time to walk through the old city.

This aisle of tourist shops within the city is a site to see. Usually full of tourists from the cruise ships. So go early before they turn up or stay late waiting for them to evacuate the city to their ships.

You'll certainly walk down this street upon entering the old town. Try to come here early (before 10AM) to beat the throngs of tourists coming in off cruise ships.

It is filled with restaurants and shops AND tourists but is still something to be experienced. Many of the main sights are on this street so it cannot be avoided. Once you get your fill...head out to the small streets and alleyways. You'll love it!

We visited Stradun on both times we walked around the city, it is impossible not to come here and not walk up and down this major artery of the city.
