- TundraclownChicago, Illinois165 contributionsGreat Area!Loved Lapad Beach....a nice little retreat from the tourist chaos of the old city. Beautiful area, great sunsets. I didn't go in the water, but the beach itself is stone - not sand.....just so you are awareVisited May 2023Written 2 June 2023
- H&R30 contributionsLovely beachVibrant atmosphere at this beach with everything you need. Sun beds are priced at 16 euros each but I think they were worth it if you are spending the day there. Plenty restaurants and places for a drink. Beautiful scenery.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 July 2023
- ChilliepadeeLondon, United Kingdom1,645 contributionsA calm escape in DubrovnikWe visited this pebble beach on a Sunday whilst we were in Dubrovnik, and it was fully packed. We found a restaurant/bar nearby (Blanco Restaurant) which has a very nice wooden deck seating area and used that as our base for the day, in between swimming and having snacks/drinks. The restaurant also offered sun lounges but you have to pay extra for the use of them. The part of the beach in front of the restaurant was brilliant and quieter. We loved it, although this was not one of the best sea experience we had in Croatia!Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 August 2023
- Liz N2 contributionsFantastic holidayWe stayed near Sunset Beach, Lapad. Fabulous views, Sunsets, plenty of fantastic restaurants, clear shallow sea. It was a perfect balanced holiday as the bus was 15 mins into Dubrovnik old town so we had some city days and some beach days. From the town get ferry 20 mins to Lokrum island... paradise, salty lake to swim in, peacocks and rabbits. Beautiful!Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 September 2023

Beautiful area but sun beds expensive. 50 euros per bed per day, including umbrella. Massive increase since it went euro.

Two sunbeds and a brolly 50 euros. Take a good towel and lay on the gaps between. RIP off considering you can get sunbeds at other destinations much cheaper

Clear and pebble beach, inside it silky sand.
Cristal clear water which you dont want to get out
There is a few things to think before you go, it is expensive, 3 sunbeds and 1 umbrella 75€. And unfriendly staff.

We spent 9 nights at this hotel as a couple. It is lovely and modern inside. Rooms are bright and very clean. It is worth paying the extra for a sea view - it is beautiful.
The upsides - and there are lots - are location. There’s a really nice 20 min promenade walk to a busier part of Lapad with cafes, restaurants, a busy sandy beach and supermarket. Outside the hotel is a bus into old Dubrovnik city which runs every 10 minutes and is just €2 per person each way. Buses are punctual and clean - we could learn a lot in the UK!
Staff at the hotel extremely helpful. Loads of beach recliners near the rocky beach and pools. Toiletries in the room very good quality. Nice towels and robes.
One of us is vegetarian and the buffet food had decent choice. However, here are the downsides (they are fine as long as you know before you go). Whilst there are several restaurants in the hotel complex they are all extra cost and not cheap (€18 for a pizza) . So if you have an inclusive option (we went half board) you can only eat in the large buffet area. The food was good quality and there were several meat and fish options each day. Salads lovely and with variety. As buffet food goes, for vegetarians this was better than Sandals in Jamaica and better than the TUI more expensive hotels in Cuba (although these two had the benefit of free drinks!). Here’s the rub. In Hotel Neptun drinks aren’t included even with meals and they are expensive. Minimum €5 for a 330ml beer. Around €7 for a glass of wine. Minibar also expensive (same as in the UK to be fair).
Only other downside was that the bed mattresses were soft as were the pillows. We are used to a firm mattress at home - but that’s a matter of personal preference rather than criticism. Also double rooms are often two singles pushed together. It was fine for us
Because of the food was better and the rooms were lovely we enjoyed this hotel more than Sandals - I’d say that is a positive. A great place to visit. Just have a decent drinks budget!
Finally - not really a family hotel - not much for kids over 5 y-o to do. Great for couples

40€ for 2 sun beds, no warnings with price, no stuff with information. Take your towels and go to first line for free and enjoy nice, warm and clean sea.

Hi,there's plenty of cafe, restaurants along the strip before getting to the beach. We are in one, unfortunately forgot the name, but excellent choices and cheaper than any of the sea front cafés/ restaurants. Also a few tourist shop along the way/ side streets.

Hi, I believe lapad beach is a 10 minute walk from Ivka hotel where I’ll be staying in June. I was wondering
a) was anyone selling floatation devices on the beach?
b) if you want to put your phone away, how safe are the lockers and how much do they cost? Do they provide wristbands for opening the lockers?
c) is it warm enough to swim in the afternoon in June and at what time does the water start getting cold and people start heading back?
Thanks
How much is the cost of sunbeds

100 Kuna for 1 sunbed and one umbrella. 200 for two sunbeds sharing an umbrella. Best beach in the Dubrovnik area.
