About
A stone's throw away from Split's Old Town, this city beach may not be the most scenic, but is a convenient spot for a quick dip. It has sun loungers, water sports equipment, and a nice sandy beach with shallow waters—great for the kids to wade in. Its easy accessibility also makes it popular during summer, so get there early if you want to bag a good spot. Stay until sundown, then head to the many restaurants and nightclubs near the beach for dinner and drinks. Many city tours of Split will include a stop at Bacvice Beach. – Tripadvisor

Wow!! 🤔😮😞

How good this beach could be?
We visited this for a day this week. It has everything needed to be an unbelievable day out!
But unfortunately this beach is the most unloved beach I have ever visited…

-25 euros for a very average sun lounger?? Per person
-filthy beach & unmaintained by local authorities!!
-A sandy beach but very hard flattened sand.

People from all over the World on holiday coming to see one of the ONLY sandy beaches. In my opinion let down by the local authorities, deprived of LOVE & more over CASH not being spent on it…

The only “sand” beach in Split. Pleasant for families because we are walking distance, not much parking, black sand always wet, difficult to settle down. The water is beautiful though. Very popular with young people, alcohol etc... lots of benches

You'd think you're in the wrong place based on the graffiti everywhere, but the water is unreal. Sandy beach and really nice foe an evening/sunset swim. There is a spot for shower which is great. No toilets around but close enough to the town to walk back.

Very disappointing beach! The sand looked horrible. Not what I was expecting. You can however rent a sunbeds for €25. There are bars you can have a drink and food
Personally if you're hoping for a beach holiday, I would not recommend bacvice beach

Hugely disappointed with Bacvice beach and the surrounding coves, messy, dirty, graffiti, overgrown grassy areas, the place looks like it needs a good clean and fresh coat of paint! The sandy areas are dirty, it’s just unkept and a mess which is odd considering how beautiful the old town and harbour areas are! The prices for basic necessities are also outrageous, we got charged 6 euros for a small bottle of water at one of the bars/shops around the beach, that’s a disgusting amount of money for a bottle of water, expensive rip off, i wouldn’t have minded so much if the area was clean, tidy and vibrant, this place needs some serious attention to bring it back up to standard, there are cheaper areas in other countries to visit that leave these beaches in the shade.

Dirty as never seen elsewhere. Hundreds of mego per m2. The towels are glued to each other. The city makes everything pay, palaces, churches, toilets , and is unable to clean the only beach with sand, run away!! It is a horror

Awful! Myself and my family are really big fans of Croatia and have very fond memories in Dubrovnik and Zadar. This beach was the most horrendous beach I’ve ever been to. Litter everywhere. My son was digging in the sand amongst cigarette butts, bottle caps and food wrappers. The beach was absolutely filthy and the whole place stunk of sewage. In all honesty I found the whole of split to be chaotic, overrun by tourists/cruise ships and full of litter. The bins were over flowing all over the city so it’s clear that whoever is in charge can’t keep up with the amount of tourists that are visiting. We visited a few beaches out of the city and the further out you go the nicer/cleaner they get. My advice would be to avoid Split and visit the islands. Stari Grad in Hvar was something off a postcard! 2 hour ferry ride from Split and your there 😁

Worst beach I've ever visited. Unavailable and expensive parking, the journey to the beach consists of a pine forest that gives off an unpleasant smell. The beach too crowded, full of children and pigeons and excessively dirty, full of garbage, the sand is cemented and gives off a bad smell. The sea is also very dirty, with plasters and syringes, with a strong current that prevents you from swimming. The showers are full of bees and wasps and the water jet is minimal, there is also a restaurant to go to for lunch, and the nearest bar is 1.5 km away, with exaggerated prices and waiters not available. I strongly advise against it.

This was an easy walk from the Diocletian Palace area. The beach is long and there are quite a few restaurants in the area. They have changing “kiosks” near the beach. We came here in the evening, right before sunset and the beach was fairly crowded even then. It is a nice place to walk around even if you don’t plan to swim.

Visiting Split with our family we had planned to stop here to escape the oppressive heat in the early afternoon.

Mission accomplished. Very very beautiful sea, clean and clear, a few stones on the shore but then the seabed is sandy.

The bay is very large, but it is artificial and there is no beach, but only a concrete slab which becomes hot under the sun. No shade, except under the few trees that are behind the beach and close to the wall.

The bay is very puristic, served by facilities with music filling the air. I don't evaluate the quality and prices of the facilities because I haven't used them.

Possibility of diving from a rock on the right of the beach and in the center of the bay where there are some concrete pillars.
